sgt1020
OUCH. So much wrong, it hurts. Jer Jer I know! I can't tell you how many times people have asked me, "this is a GT500 Shelby right?". lol Not many people know what the Shelby GT is, which in my mind makes it that much more special! I can't tell you how many times people have asked me, "this is a GT500 Shelby right?". lol Not many people know what the Shelby GT is, which in my mind makes it that much more special! I guess I expect a dealer to know better. Not because they've historically shown any savvy on stuff like this, but don't they need to run the VIN, etc? What does the title say? Seems hard to get the model wrong. Usually some minimum-wager is updating the Website, so THAT I expect... but this one's just REALLY out of whack. Wonder if the previous owner got GT500 money on the trade... Well, at least the new owner will be ready for some serious off-roading with those two spotlights up front. I can't tell you how many times people have asked me, "this is a GT500 Shelby right?". lol Not many people know what the Shelby GT is, which in my mind makes it that much more special! I had that same experience just last evening. A guy in a big SUV pulled up on the passenger side and complimented me on the car. Then he said he wished he had not spent 50K+ on the SUV and said something like "so what did you pay for the Shelby, 65K?" I knew he was thinking of the GT500's. (they were actually going for 75K around here) When I mentioned a much lower amount he had the deer in the headlights look of shock The light changed and so I left him speechless. I would have loved to have heard the rest of the conversation with the person that was riding with him CC
goldgus
If you think the first link was way off, have a look at the "other" car on his site... GT500KR Look at that ORIGINAL MSRP!!! YIKES...
cobradad
That is about the price the KR's were going for here in the bay area too I believe. maybe a tad less but not by much. There was a 25K dealer markup for just the GT500's. CC

YIKES... Gus, at least they didn't give the KR a different name like they gave the Shelby GT (In their case, their white and silver striped GT500) I even love how in the pictures, you can see the 4.6l motor with the hood open yet the specs on the listing say a 5.4L supercharged V8

I like it how it says it's their 5th GT500KR, and how they have other GT500's in the showroom, but label an SGT as a GT500
backafter20
Last week, while trying to get some warranty work done on my 08SGT, the service manager asked me if I had the 350 or the 500. I said neither, it's a Shelby GT. He said Of course it's a Shelby GT! The 350 or the 500?! He got snippy and told me I had to have one or the other. I then told him that the 500 was a pre-title SVT product made at Ford, and the 350 was a post-title upgrade made at Shelby in Las Vegas. He looked at me like I was intentionally being a smart@$$, rolled his eyes, and walked away. How does Ford stay in business?

Tell him you have the GT500 and somehow on the last service the wrong engine was installed. And this is the service manager?? I could see a new service writer new to the ford products but the manager?? Exit stage right... CC

Ya shoulda asked him if he knew the difference between third base and the little brown spot on his backside..... sheesh!!! oh wait a minute... when I went shopping for a GT500 they told me they couldn't get anymore but there's a GT350 in the showroom!!! I bought the GT350! It's black with silver stripes! BTW, it's never been back to that dealership!
cobradad
Is it sooo hard to read what the side stripes have to say? Any dealership that can't tell the difference should definitely be avoided. CC
