richstang
I just found this Tungsten Grey CS8 advertised on ebay. Only 340 miles! What stands out right away is the lack of the front CS bumper cover. Very clean car. This car should be in the registry if it is in fact complete. It does look nice in this colour combination regardless.. It will be good to see what $$ this car brings as the last couple of high end listings with a SS and a GT350 had zero bids which I found very surprising. UK PONY
Odd that for, what appears to be, a genuine Turn1 CS8 that there's no dash plaque.
richstang
Odd that for, what appears to be, a genuine Turn1 CS8 that there's no dash plaque. I was just going to mention that. If it was ordered as a complete package would the plaque be included (along with the stripes) in the kit at purchase or sent after it was fully completed / assembled? I also noticed it is listed by a Ford dealer and their is no reference to a previous owner, even in the car check it's listed as N/A.

SHELBYCS6
I sent an e-mail expressing interest in the car and questioning some of the obvious inconsistencies. two days later....no reply

As a dealership (selling cars for a business), why not reply back to questions, it just raises more reg flags.. It's holding at the same bid price of 23,100 for the last several days....2 to go... I actually did finally receive an answer yesterday... They proceeded to "school" me on the CS8 vehicle..lol... They still contend no dash plaque was ever issued and the car is a complete CS8 vehicle and very rare. To which I had to provide a little vehicle history lesson .... It will be interesting to see if they reply..lol..

It will be interesting to see if they reply..lol.. I have not logged into Team Shelby for over a year, and yes this is an old post, however I wanted to clarify something for future readers. I have a very early CS8, which was build in 2006. Shelby did not have dash plaques for these cars when the kits first came out. A few years after the kit was released (maybe 2007\2008) Amy finally agreed to make a dash plaque. My car has a hand signed plaque from Shelby Childrens Foundation from early in 2006 vs. the turn 1 or Turn 2 plaques from 2007\2008. I was very close to calling Shelby Autos back in 2007\2008 to get an updated plaque, but decided not to do this. Also, the CS8 did not originally come with the CS6 bumper. There were two versions of the Shelby grill in 2006. One for the CS6 (the Shelby bumper) and one for the CS8 (the Ford Mustang GT) bumper. My turn 2 has the CS8 (GT bumper) grill vs. the CS6 grill - meaning some of the first CS8's did not have the CS6 bumper installed. Just wanted to add my $.002. As a side note, I still love my CS8 - people ask "what year is that thing" every time they see it and the Paxton supercharged \intercooled engine has no problem keeping up with a brand new Boss 302. I am also a bit surprised by all of the "Shelby experts" that appear at local car shows these days. Many so-called experts think my car is a West Coast or a CS6, and were not aware that a handful of these were built back in 2k6. Well, time to stop my rant. I will probably log back into team shelby again when it is time to take the car out again next summer. The car was put in winter storage less than an hour ago... Have a good winter everyone! Welcome back to the board and thanks for the reply and the clarification, You are very correct about the dash plaque however, as you stated, once the dash plaque issue was resolved in late 2006 / 2007 any vehicle that was completed to the build code was then eligible for the Turn one or Turn two plaque. A signed plaque such as yours is a very nice touch but is available to any vehicle owner that wants to spend the $200.00 to get one. My vehicle as well as several others both CS6 and CS8 vehicles were all built or at least parts ordered in early 2006, all had the CS6 style bumper and grill that I have seen. If this was not a requirement for some CS8 vehicles this is the first I have ever heard of it as I thought it was only the rear fascia that remained. I would certainly like some clarification from someone at SAI regarding this issue and if they would register vehicles without the grill and fascia then I will certainly retract any statement I made to the contrary. The early vehicles also did not have a Shelby / Paxton name plate on the supercharger and I waited and additional three months to ensure I had one with the plate so I'm not sure if yours has the serial plate or not. Please understand, this vehicle was for sale at a dealership and my information was posted to protect unsuspecting purchasers from buying an item that may not have been complete and was being misrepresented. I advised the dealership to register the vehicle at SAI which they also told me was not possible when we all know is possible for any completed vehicle. If this is a completed vehicle to Shelby standards you should have it registered as such with SAI then if there is any question, you have the paperwork to support your efforts. Hope you enjoy your vehicle and you have a good winter too..

SHELBYCS6
I recall seeing an early CS6 coupe (silver IIRC) without the Shelby front clip. I'm sure there are several partial builds out there without certain components including the fascia and grill. The question here is if SAI will accept them as completed vehicles. I'm positive that no grill and fascia in a CS6 would indicate the vehicle isn't complete as the Sema vehicle and prototypes had the fasca and grill and the original build literature indicated the same. The question is the CS8, and any completed one time purchase CS8 bulids that I have seen have the fascia and grill as a completed vehicle. I have never recalled seeing any build literature or parts lists showing mod components without the grill and fascia. Would someone at SAI like to comment on the early CS8 build options please
ieson
I have not logged into Team Shelby for over a six months now, however I noticed that SHELBYCS6 had a few questions - maybe my build can help answer some of them. First, my 2K6 CS8 does not have the Shelby / Paxton name plate on the supercharger - I did not know that SAI would provide these post build until reading tonight. I thought that the plate was only for the CS6 up to now. I may ask SAI to ship the plate now that I know that this is an option for early builds. As for the grill, there were two part numbers CS6-009 for the CS8 (GT bumper) and CS6-007 for the CS6 bumper. I have CS6-009 on my car, it took Shelby quite some time to ship CS6-009 to me because they needed to make the brackets. I never did figure out the brackets and decided to get PIAA brackets instead for the lights and fabricated my own brackets for the grill. This also allowed me to use the Cervini's bumper instead of the Shelby or GT bumper. I was obsessive over side pipes at the time and did not think the Shelby bumper would look correct with the Cervini's side pipe covers. I still have the goofy CS6-009 brackets someplace just in case... BTY I was a little bit angry when the Terlingua came out in 2008... It had side pipes built into the kit. Although I doubt this is what really happened, a part of me wants to believe that someone at SAI really liked pics of my car with side pipes when designing the Terlingua in 2007... Be back in another 6 month when it is time to put the car in storage again.
