Best Vendor to Buy Replacement Stripes?

Recommended Posts

I know this topic has been covered 20,000 times over, but are there any vendors that you guys have used to pick up replacement stripes? I brought my car to the body shop to get the stripes replaced and they wound up getting a set from Shelby, which was incorrect and color. Shelby then gave my body shop the run around about returning what Shelby sent them, etc. So I referred to them a place that I've seen guys use here online and I'm assuming they are getting the run around as well about color, estimate on how long to have the stripes completed by, etc. I'm picking up my car tomorrow from the shop with the stripes not even worked on because no one is able to get this done. I'm about two secs from just driving my Shelby into a wall and buying a car where I dont need to spend an arm and a leg for (watch your mouth OP) replacement stripes. Sorry for my rant.

Your car is what...4 years old? If you have in 07 the stripe material is no longer made. The stuff that SA provides is the richer glossy stripes in the 08. If you have an 08 also be aware that striped fade and slightly change color over time. Finally it just may be that the 08 material is now no longer made.

But regardless of the above the solution is very simple. Restripe the entire car. That's what I did to get a consistent color across the entire car. You can verify the stripe material that SA sent which has been Orcal, silver satin gloss, I think #39? Then purchase stripes using the same material for the rest of the car. Or just match the color as best you can and redo it all.

The fact is the stripes will need replacement every 5-10 years and over the life of the car chances are material will get discontinued over and over so matching will be the rule and not the exception.

There is a member here that can cut you the rest if the stripes using the same material SA provides and I'll let him chime in.

Relax, it's not a big issue, and easily solved.

Yes, mine is an 07 and I hope the material is discontinued because the original material Shelby used for the stripes on a 40k car is complete ( OP still needs to watch his/her mouth) I was planning on completely restriping the car, but the worst area is the roof. The stripes on the roof are so badly faded, they actually almost match the color of the car :rant2:

John Farmer, (Farmdog), is the gentleman that makes the stripes. Stuckonyougraphics.com

We do have children who read these boards so if you can't conduct yourself like an adult you can go "rant" elsewhere. If you want help, we all been where you are, then change your tone. If you want resolution then my suggestion would be to stop trying to place blame, we've got pages of that here already thanks, and focus on learning from those of us that have gone through it.

People are here to help one another but no one is going help someone that's intentionally trying to be disruptive.

Have you gone through the warranty process with Ford on these? WendyC@ShelbyAmerican.com will be able to advise you.
