johnrehder
So I have an exhaust leak close to the header. I'm taking it to a dealer for an estimate to fix it tommorow. If its a lot of money to fix it I might as well put long tube headers on. Is there a set up that will allow me to stay emissions legal? I'm in a county that requires emissions tests each year. Do I need to keep the cats?? Looking for any advice. thanks

young768
John, The exhaust system is bolted together at each joint so hopefully it may just be a leak at a loose joint as Jer indicated. To pass emissions, you will have to have the cats otherwise it will fail and I believe it is actually illegal in GA to run without the cats unless it is an off road vehicle. johnrehder
Sounds like a leak by where the header meets the down pipe before the cat. I don't have a lift so I could'nt point it out.
