SGT Steering Wheel Horn Cap

Recommended Posts

I know there are no official sgt s snake emblems for horn cap to replace the tribar pony. But has anyone come up with a do it yourself solution or a 3rd party product? Same goes for the front grille emblem as well. I think it's the only thing the car is lacking in that regard.

Search for steering wheel center cap.......there's been several variants, byt it basically boils down to having a graphics shop make something for you.

Here's one thread:

holy dead thread revival Batman!, you do realize you responded to a post/thread that has been inactive for almost 5 years. Also the OP hasn't been active since 2011. Good luck in getting a reply though.

As I recall, there are actually a great many more threads out there on this. In my case I used a Saleen center piece that fit over the pony and then had a custom center piece disk made. It seems like I posted on this. Also be careful you don't blow out the air bag messing with removing the tribar pony. It amazes me sometimes on these old threads reappearing.

I had a steering wheel emblem and gas faux emblem made up for my SGT that has the "S" snake emblem and on the right side it reads Shelby GT and on the left side it reads Nor Cal edition. Very nice work . His name is Rodger Devries and you can contact him at devriesigns@gmail.com He has many examples ask for deck lid/faux gas cap overlay and steering wheel overlay. He can make virtually any combination for you. Hope this works for you. I am very happy with his work or I would not recommend him to team Shelby members. You do not even have to remove your pony emblem.

Here you go this is what I used over my steering wheel tribar pony as did several of our forum members:

http://shop.saleen.com/product_p/10-9100-b156160.htm

The disk is cut out in the back to fit exactly over your factory emblem. I had a decal made for my Shelby GT/BJ as did many members for their Shelby Mustangs with a snake logo. Keeps you from dealing with airbag issues.

Hope this helps, search the forum and you will find several more versions from members. I did mine in conjunction with headrests and console upgrade to my Shelby.

Regards.....gg

I don't think it'd do anything the orig emblem wouldn't do.... if stuck to it... When i did mine, i just glued it to one half of the bag, assuming it splits down the middle it would behave similar to the original... I plan to hit things at really high speed though, so the airbag emblem would be a minor concern... :)

Am I the only one concerned about a flying object missile during an accident?

Takata airbags already have flying objects. One more won't matter! :-)))

Contact Roger Devries at the email posted above. The cap they make is very close to the one Shelby discontinued a few years ago. Excellant quality and service

I had everything in a cart at shelby.com, however we also have two children, so wasnt able to get everything i wanted........but I do not remember an option from shelby at all....I always thought this was one of the items that was done better in future models. mine is a 2007 so I just figured the newer ones had better ones. Hope to see a pic of the one shelby offered at some point.........Ill keep looking......any ideas on where it is located?

I believe the 'cap' mentioned in the quoted text you referenced (by 99-9x) was for the Faux Gas cap emblem that was produced back around 2009ish not a horn emblem, SPP never produced one, period.

Every single horn emblem you've seen on the forums has been custom made in someway.
