A New Beginning

Recommended Posts

I was all set to paint the stripes, but both scoop and stripes were approved, got it back Monday.happy%20feet.gif

I found a thread from 2008 where several members had been waxing their stripes with success, ...it's been over two years now.

So, for those that still have the original silver stripes, and had been waxing them (Turtle Ice and Zaino were mentioned), how have they held up? headscratch.gif ..and what were you using?

I'd like to do all in my power to make them last as long as I can, ...knowing the eventual outcome.

Any wax will do but see if someone tells what really works without causing a problem. I used Mequiars Gold paste wax. then in between waxing mothers FX spray works great of course on the whole car. I wax my car every couple of months the Fx spray is easy leaves a nice barrier even thru the touchless wash. Also Mequiar has a spray that you put on wipe off and don't put anything else on for a couple hours. It leaves a hard that last for months

I have been using Griot's products. I clay bar the paint every other wax job or so. I use their random orbital to apply Griot's #3 or #4 polish (very mild and finest) and then follow up with Best of Show wax. I have not seen any problems with the stripes. I am careful to not allow build up on the stripe edges by watching the direction I am running the orbital over the surface. The car is not a daily driver and never sees the sun unless I am driving it.
