GT500: Get Down On It !

Recommended Posts

What color of Shelby GT500 do you want to see "get down on it" on tape? And by "get down on it", I don't mean a Kool and the Gang song. :do what: I mean hammer 475 horses!

Mine. Torch with white coupe. But can we still hear Kool and the Gane after the tires and exhaust subside?

BTW...thanks for all you do. I'm fairly new on the board but wanted to share kudos for your great work.

I really want to see the True Production Red with White Stripes.

Also, Black with White Stripes. Please?!?

 I 2nd that............those are my two choices red/white but leaning towards black with white. Hey 07 Shelby, does this mean white/blue is no longer choice one for you???

What Sharon said! :yup: Seriously, if I lived in the area, and knew where to find them, I'd go out on the prowl in the Vert. I'm sure at least *one* of those drivers would be game if you revved at them enough. I'd certainly get my ass handed to me (I'm expecting high 12s out of that slug), but it would be a whole lot of fun to see if you could get someone to bite.

Yes, SVTPower, white would be nice. When I saw it at the NAIAS I said that it was the color for me. Good remembering! But, I live by a lake and just know I'd be having to wash the front end everytime I pulled into the driveway because of the bug kill. Not to mention road tar, etc. It would drive me bananas! :o

I do that to people!

Yes, Red with stripes #1 and then Black with stripes #2. I really liked the dark color of the Alloy, so I'm anxious to see Black with the stripes! As you know the Red display model, at the autoshows, isn't going to be the final production Red.

:nonono: ohhhhhhhhh..............I know all too well that the red we saw and want is not the same. If you've been reading the posts, you'll know I've been to Erinwood, Dixie Ford and others looking at colors. I to was set on red but torch red?? I'm not so sure. I've been to dealers on sunny days, overcast, sunset times etc......... and I'm still questioning the red. Nice in the shade, when clean but when the sun is really on it, looks orangy. Besides too many people saying lots of girls buy red cars (don't flame me people), not tough enough, not the right color for this musclecar etc...............and the only bad thing you hear about black is how hard to keep clean but the good things about how nice it is clean, tough looking color, etc......are all true. In the end, I can't go wrong with black.........just have to convince myself the same of red. Even if I go black, if the striping doesn't grow on me, I'll change to silver stripes which was my choice anyways but not available. by the way, any calls yet from Erinwood??? No calls for me or my buddy yet. Pricing???

Still no pricing.... I called a few weeks back and they told me not to worry about a thing.

I hear you about the Red. I've looked at it on various Ford cars, like yourself, but I really need to see it on the Shelby herself!

My last two trucks and my Supercoupe were Black. A Black car looks amazing polished, but even a light rain will change that. With three kids, all under seven, I have no time for detailing let alone anything else it seems.

Unfortunately our orders will probably be in before we get to see the red on the Shelby and colors chosen so it may be too late then, so for me a red GT and some imagination works, and therefore, decision may be black.

Although in my travels, the F-series trucks have similiar red, seems a bit brighter actually and it's called Red Metallic clearcoat, doesn't really look metallic but sweet color, close to Torch but a bit more red.

As for kids, I have one 11 year old boy which I'm converting to a gearhead.................he will be waxing soon enough. Mine will be a toy so I won't have to risk the dirtying daily and detailing it daily, cover on, cover off.............and cruise. :D

I had a 97' F150 4X4 Flareside that looked awesome in Red. Whatever that Red was called back then?

Robert,

How is the process going of getting this video? If I get any closer to the edge of my seat I think I am going to fall onto the floor.

Thanks,

Steve
