Mustang DAN
McCombs Ford in San Antonio said no dice on warranty coverage for my deteriorating stripes. Jordan Motorcars (Division of Jordan Ford) who sells a lot of Mustangs, Shelby's, Vettes, etc. said they could replace the vinyl stripes for about $250, but also offered a "painted" vinyl for about $650. They said the painted vinyl is surfaced with the same type paint as the car and would last much longer (5 year warranty). Anyone know about or have experience with the painted vinyl? Do these prices sound reasonable? I drive the car every day and don't want to be re-striping it every year. I'm about ready to take them off and leave them off, or have them painted on. Thanks for any input.

stormeaston
Painted on for 650.00..........................that seems like a fair price to me. I redid my stripes four years ago with vinyl from a sign shop for 250.00 and they still look like new today, and were 10X better quality than the originals. So either way I think you'll be fine. Thanks for any input. MD, I don't know the specifics of your warranty claim but it is not up to the dealer to decide if a claim is covered or not under the warranty. You may want to look into this more. Steve
SGT/SC#0471
I got told that Ford would not replace the spotted stripes on my roof as well. We are replacing the stripes today with another vendors kit...pm me for details...
vapor08GT500
I have used the vinyl stripes that have paint on them, they are much better than the stock vinyl, but still not as goos a completely painted. they do not swirl or spot as easy, but they still will if left outside long enough, or if anything sits on it for too long.
