KR Style Hood Installed

Recommended Posts

I haven't had much time to get the car detailed the way I like but I finally had some time tonight. Here are pictures of the hood and side scoops installed. This is the Trufiber hood and SPP side scoops. I am very happy the way it turned out.

Looks really good Greg! Any idea if there is enough room for a 3.6 KB under that hood?

I don't really know Clint. I think a TVS might be in the future.

Looks nice. Did you use emblems on the bottom the hood with decals or what? The outside scoops match wonderfully too.

Those are decals under the hood. Airbrushing costs too much and I am not an artist.

Thanks for all the compliments. My body shop guy is family and he does a great job on any car he gets into his shop. The cars don't leave the shop unless it gets his blessing. He went through several paint formulas to get the color to match.

The new hood looks great!! I love that color scheme. You may have answered this before but, what made you decide to get a Trufiber rather than a Shelby SuperSnake hood? Was it price, availability, or craftsmanship, or was it a combination? I am curious because I am also ready to purchase one of these type of hoods and with the SuperSnake from Shelby available, I am not sure what to do.

Sorry, one more question, are the stripes painted?

I went with the Trufiber because of all of the above. This hood had a great gel-coat on it from the factory and prepping was easier. I love the SS hoods but you also had to buy the grills separately which adds to the over-all cost. The stripes are vinyl from Stuck-On-You Graphics.

Thanks again guys......

Now I also need to get a set of stronger hood struts. Does anyone know where I can get a set from? All I need is the struts. Also looking for maybe some KR style 18" wheels. I have a set of the KR wheels in my garage waiting to be put on to some wheels.

Thanks for all your compliments and comments. My body shop, Hagedorn Collision, took great pride in getting this right.

Can I get them to do one for me? No one here, that I would trust to do that great of a job. It looks great. Congratulations.

I am sure you can but don't expect the family discount. I am going up there in a little while and I will talk to him to about it.

looks fantastic.

as far as hood struts, Trufiber sells kits that they recommend using with their hoods....have you seen them?

Thanks for the link. I'll have to look into those. I currently have the MRT struts. I was hoping to just replace the struts since I have all the mounting hardware.

Looks sweet - I love mine too. Have debated about the side scoops but haven't pulled the trigger yet on those. Like what you had done on the interior of the hood as well. Enjoy!

These are the GT/CS side scoops. I got a good deal from my local dealer. Thanks for the compliment.
