WORLD CHILDREN’S TRANSPLANT FUND TO HONOR CARROLL SHELBY AT “GLOBAL PARTNERS DINNER”

Carroll Shelby Foundation to sponsor WCTF’s dinner fundraiser

Automotive racing legend Carroll Shelby will be the guest of honor at the World Children’s Transplant Fund’s (WCTF) inaugural Global Partners Dinner fundraiser on Thursday, May 12, at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City, Calif. The exclusive fund-raising dinner will highlight the famed car manufacturer’s charitable contributions and activities through the years, as well as his support of the WCTF’s mission to provide children the opportunity to receive life-saving organ transplants.

“Carroll has been a strong advocate in the fight to help children receive the medical support and equipment they need,” said Jenni Shreeves, executive director of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. “Understanding firsthand the physical and financial challenges of receiving an organ transplant, Carroll established a foundation of his own, the Carroll Shelby Foundation, to promote this important cause. Carroll and our team are delighted to attend this fundraiser and support the WCTF in their battle to help children receive the care they deserve, but many times can’t afford.”

Known for his roles in “Falcon Crest” and “Grease,” celebrity ambassador for the WCTF Lorenzo Lamas will emcee the evening. Bert Boeckmann, owner of Galpin Ford and longtime friend of the CSF founder, will present Carroll with the prestigious award. Guests at the event will have the opportunity of a lifetime to dine with one of the automotive industry’s most iconic members. The dinner is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. PST, with a cocktail hour beginning at 6 p.m.

“Funds gathered as a result of this event will go toward saving lives of children by enhancing the opportunity for a transplant surgery in the U.S. as well as in Mexico and Armenia,” explained Mark Kroeker, founder and chairman of WCTF. “With very small overhead costs, the WCTF leverages donations with key life saving programs in places where we are needed the most.”

About WCTF.org

The World Children's Transplant Fund (WCTF), is a nongovernmental, nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of pediatric transplantation around the world. Lack of financing for the transplant operations, and especially for post-operation treatment, is one of the major problems in every country.

What WCTF Does

Raises funds to establish pediatric transplant centers in the countries that do not have them.

Helps the existing transplant centers finance operations on children.

Helps purchase necessary equipment and drugs for the transplant hospitals.

Helps organize appropriate training for the transplant surgeons and coordinators.

Helps organize organ donation campaigns.

Our mission is to provide the opportunity for life-saving organ transplants to children of the world. Now, we need your support to help these many children. Costs vary as each transplantation is unique. Minimally, however, a family trying to save the life of their child is looking at an immense financial burden.

You Can Help! As we move further into the 21st century, we are looking forward to the day when the opportunity for life-saving organ transplants to children of the world is the norm, not the exception. This requires your help. Your kindness will be remembered in the smile of a child. Please donate or volunteer.

Thats awesome.

I do find one thing kind of wierd though............................. They are HONORING Carroll Shelby But yet, it is Sponsored by Carroll Shelby Foundation. It makes it sound like CSF is paying them to Honor CS. I by no means am saying that is whats happening, I am just saying thats how it reads.
