Hello All,

Just pulled the car out of the bubble tonight. First thing to go in was my Christmas present from the wife. The '11 Shelby GT500 floor matts. Has anyone else bought these? I may end up trying to return them. They are jet black versus the stock mats and carpet which is an off black so they look out of place. Then they are also smaller than the stock matts and cover no where near the same amount of space. Some of the angles also don't come close to matching up.

I have to honestly say I was expecting a LOT more and especially considering the price we paid for this set. I was wondering if I got the wrong year, but the retainer clips (which barely line up) do look like they are meant for the new body style versus the old. I should have known I guess. The order process was a nightmare.

Order placed 8 weeks before Christmas.

They don't show for Christmas and my wife is in tears when she's told Shelby doesn't even look for them until week 11 (site quoted 4-6). She is told to call back at week 11

Week 11 arrives, no matts, she calls, is told they'll look into it

Week 13, we call back, they forgot to look into it, turns out the matts were never made (CC was charged 13 weeks ago though)

Week 18 matts show up

I ordered up the Loyd heavy plush mat's that BOI sells on ebay for $82 and they are heavy super thick rubber backed mat that looks and fits awesome. Its going to be hard to find a nice quality mat that matches the color of the factory mats. Most companies only sell black, gray, and tan.

Is the decal an overlay or is it sewn in? Nice thing about the ones from Shelby is they are sewn in. But that's about it. The fit stinks, not even close to fitting actually. I'm a HUGE Shelby fan, but this is kind of disappointing.

they are sewn and fit perfect, my interior looks so much better than thin crappy factory grey mats in place. they are worth every penny and protect so much more of your carpet

That's not good.

Who manufacturers the Shelby mats? Did your mats come in the manufacturer box?

Shelby's website states that these are "Premium" and ships from the manufacturer.

My original Super Snake mats from Shelby are super nice, premium.

I have a set of the Lloyd mats when I first got my GT500. Yes, the Lloyd mats are a deeper darker black.

Lloyd mats are definitely a premium mat.

Please share, post pics.

the OEM stock Ford factory mats are cheap in comparison to the Lloyd mats.

Wondering why you guys ordered the mats you did instead of ordering another set of OEM floor mats from Ford. Different design or appearance?

Thanks.

Because the factory mats are a freaking joke!!! Worst floor mats I have ever seen in my entire life. I'm guessing you haven't spent any quality time with the factory mats.

Yes the logos are stitched into the mat and you will not be disappointed one bit with the $82 Loyd's mats which show up in a few days. How much did your Shelby mats cost you and how long did they take to show up?

I typed above so I'm assuming it was a rhetorical question. The Shelby matts took nearly 18 weeks and were around $250 after shipping. Biggest difference was it included the rear matt loyds doesn't list but shelby has for 95.

The plastic studs, color and thickness look identical between the two. Differences look to be the graphics and the shapes. I'm calling Shelby tomorrow to get this straightened out, though I'm anticipating a "it's been too long" or "they're custom ordered" responses so "we cannot accept returns".

I'm not very happy at the moment and don't anticipate getting happier tomorrow.

Looking at it further after shipping and factoring in the rear mat, I'm only saving $50 by going with the Loyds mats, which explains why/how they are licensed by Shelby. My issue is the fitment really. Shipping duration didn't matter because the car was in storage. They definitely look longer as it covers the foot rest. But are they the exact width of the floor plan or an inch narrower like the ones from Shelby. I have to imagine the same place makes all of these.

So ... the Shelby mats you ordered were made by Lloyd???

yeah I'll snap some pictures at home tonight to share with everyone. Not sure if Lloyds makes them or not. But the entire mat (with exception of size and decal) look identical with regards to thickness, backing and color. I can get over how the black doesn't match up but these ones from Shelby, though I love the decal, do not fit well at all.

Does anyone have pictures of their Lloyds mats installed?

Man they look great--went to their site and it says the 2010 Gt500 floor mats is the same as 2007 thru 2009. With the major body changes in 2010 im doubting theyr right. Are the hold down pins on the 11 different than the 10s--i was thinking thyre exactly the same

The 2011s have plastic pieces on the bottom that snap onto the floor. The 2010s and previous years have the hooks.

I bought a GT500 last year ( x-mas ) and placed it in my garage.( waited to stop snowing ) I bought a spare floor mats for the Shelby. They came in four days from Brother Performance ( $ 85.00 FREE Shipping) They are made by Lloyds. I also bought a trunk mat too. Lloyds are great. :happy feet: If you bought floor mats from TS you will hear 4 to 8 weeks. BUT, really you be lucky to get them in 4 to 8 months.

I picked up my set of Lloyd's mats (4 piece with snake emblem) on ebay for $69 last November. They look great. Not the best pic but it's the only one I could locate.

Update:

As I expected this isn't going well. I spoke with the customer service rep who defaulted to the lowest level of accountability which is personal excuses. I was told it's 30 days from the day of order at which time I can only get store credit. Nevermind the mats didn't show up for 71 days after the date of order! Not only that I was snickered at and told that in "my nearly 1 year of doing this I have never had anyone complain about the mats being narrower than the stock ones". Well news flash bud, those guys must not have cared. I do.

I was escalated to April, which meant going to her voicemail. I look forward to a call back from April to discuss this in greater detail. So far the customer service experience has been horrible. From the date of purchase to backing up their product upon getting it out of the box. This isn't what I expected at all. I hope they'll make it right and refund my money. Quite shocking when you add up all the other things I've bought from them and take a look at my garage. Even more shocking considering I am considering purchasing the SuperSnake pkg for my 11 GT500. No way will I move forward with spending $30k if they are not going to back up $300.

ordered: 11/24/10

shipped: 1/28/11

delivered: 2/3/11

Per their policy my return window expired on 12/24/10. That is 41 days before I actually recieved the product and well after the car has been put in storage and into a bubble. Am I just to assume their product will be smaller than the stock floor mats and not meet expectations? Thus check it right away by taking the car out of storage (a 2-3 hour process) just to check the floor mats?

Hopefully April intends to correct this problem tomorrow. I'm a HUGE Shelby fan and really want to continue buying things from them. But store credit is not an acceptable outcome for me.

You should forward that to someone that has the power to change things over there. These customer service story's lately have blown my mind.

The LLoys mats look to be bigger then my factory mats when I swapped them.

I emailed the address provided on their site. I will also be forwarding this thread and my email to other active Team Shelby forum posters who are employees to resolve this matter if April is unwilling to do so. I'm just myself, working for the second largest retailer in the United States. We would never find it acceptable to speak to customers like that or not back-up the product regardless of the exact number of days. Especially if we didn't meet expectations in the first place on the order.

However, also working for a large retailer, I get that sometimes the customer service ball gets dropped. This may be one of those times for Shelby. I am still out there as a potential avid future customer and willing to spend thousands more. But if this doesn't end well...the definition of insanity is doing the same thing multiple times expecting a different results. I'm not an insane person and there will not be a next time.

Wow! I guess SA has changed mat suppliers. I ordered the Carroll Shelby Signature mats when I first got my GT500 in 07 and they are fab to the 10th power. The same mats that came with the 40th Anniversary package and the SS package.

+1

Sounds like Shelby switched vendors .... now made in China, lol.

Please share pics so we can compare.

Pics will speak a thousand words.

I almost ordered a new set, hopefully Shelby will read this post.

All,

I just got off the phone with April at Shelby American today. She had called me this morning but I missed the call as I was in a meeting. April said she will refund our money in full and send me a return label so I do not incur return shipping costs. I thanked April for resolving this issue and she apologized for the hassle that it created for me.

I am satisfied with the outcome and think this is a result of the first "tier" of employee customer service response being less than judicious regarding his response style and defaulting to defensive versus understanding. Once escalated the matter was resolved in a timely, friendly and appropriate matter. As such, I will change the title of this thread again.

Glad to hear everything was worked out....Still a shame that it had to escalate that far, but in the end the right thing was done. Hope this sheds some light on things for future purchases and April and others' can take the necessary steps in training their staff in the "proper" way to handle "customer service".

I have a hard time believing the quality is that bad.

What vendor makes the Shelby mats?

From other Shelby resale sites, the retail vendor claims the Shelby mats are made by Lloyd.

Lloyd mats are top quality and fitment is excellent.

I already sent them back and neglected to take pictures. The color and thickness looks like the Lloyd mats but the cut (shape, angles, length and width) is completely different. They may be made by Lloyd but they are a totally different template than the other Lloyd ones you can find at other resale sites.

Dan - Delayed reply here... now that my car is close to delivery, I'm pulling the trigger on some Lloyds mats. Also looking for a trunk mat. I was going to order a second set of factory mats at invoice, but I'm hearing too many good things about the Lloyds mats, so I'll just put the OEMs in storage for someday in the future if/when I sell the car. At least then, I'll have the 'original' mats, even though they're not too great.

Thanks for the info... I'm having fun stocking up on little goodies for the new toy.

+1 on the Lloyd's mats. I ordered them through E-Bay for my 2011. I am very fussy about fitment & qulaity and I could not be happeir with these. Only very minor comment about the mats is that I would have liked to have seen the hole retainer system for the driver mat (liek the OEMs). The all black turned out to look better than I thought as well.
