SVTPP and Lowering with Springs

Hello,

I want to lower my 2011 GT500 with SVT PP just with lowering springs without changing the dampers.

Which manufacturer has springs with the proper spring rates in his suspension parts list which will fit with the dampers charakeristics from the SVT PP or with all the suspension parts from the SVT PP especially for the Convertible´s weight?

I know that the Coupe without the SVT PP has the same spring rates as the Convertible with the SVT PP so comfort will not change.

So I suppose that the FR Lowering Kit for the 2011 Coupe http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=9882 will fit also the convertible with the SVT PP or is my conclusion wrong?

Did somebody already did this and can make guidance in this?

Thank you in advance,

Christian

Almost any of the aftermarket 11-12 Mustang springs will fit. And, you're SVT dampers are already stiffer than the standard GT ones. Don't worry to much about having convert. specific springs, since the car isn't that much heavier than the coupe. What is really comes down to is: What's the purpose of the car?, How much are you willing to sacrifice comfort?, and How low do you want the car?

If you're simply wanting a sllightly stiffer spring that will lower the car .75 to 1 inch, then I would recommend the H&R super sport springs. If you're wanting a much stiffer ride at approx. the same ride height, with great handling for track use, while still being somewhat comfortable for the street, then I would recommend the H&R race springs. Both springs will work on your SVT dampers, and both are available from American Muscle.

I would like to lower the car approx. 1"-1.25".

Unfortunatelly is written that the H&R springs you named do not fit the GT500
