dfm
My battery goes dead on my 2008 GT500 after the car sits for about a month. Is this the nature of the breast or is there something wrong?
03 DSG Snake
Seems about right. Pick up a battery tender.
09KR0058
My KR sat for just over 2 months in the garage under the custom cover. Cranked right up with no problems.
jsarkis
Something slowly draws on these cars (or most of them) when off for that long. I've had mine die once in almost two years of ownership. It sat for probably two weeks. When it's time for a new one, you can bet I won't be buying a OEM battery. twobjshelbys
If you are going idle for long periods of time your only choice is a battery tender (which supplies slightly more current than the parasitics like radio and security system) or to disconnect the battery. If you disconnect you will lose radio programs, etc.
Shelby252
A month is about the amount of time it takes for my battery to die. As others have said just put a battery tender on if you aren't going to drive it for awhile.
thewheelman
Factory batteries on these cars are not known for their longevity.......had mine replaced under warranty. Check with your dealer.

Is this the nature of the breast or is there something wrong? Same issue with me over the weekend on my 2008. I picked up a battery tender at the local auto part store and after a day (it is a small 750mA one), it starts fine. Not sure if I will have any residual issues but it works for now. cluscher
Mine lasts a lot longer if I don't lock the car. The security system saps the battery as it sits. I went about two months and started it at about 40 degrees ambient temp without a problem. With the car locked it needed to be jumped after a month. me32
The stock battery is a POS. Mine is less than 3 yrs old less than 16k miles an it doesn't hold a full charge
vipereatr
Mine goes dead after slightly more than a week, but I have the StreetEagle GPS system. CTEK3300 solved everything.

Mine sat for about two months in the garage, unlocked, under the custom cover, and it cranked up fine. Anyone know if the LoJack saps any power?
