Damn that looks good! Whose car is that, is it Nite's car? I like the silver stripes with those wheels better than the black stripes. Love the front splitter too.

LOL!! OK I'll let the cat out..........even though I have never seen your car until today it looks "almost" exactly like my GT/SC and my car is still at Shelby Las Vegas. LOL! I really did not know how my car would look with the 20" CS40's, new stripes and new hood scoop and ofcourse the polished whipple SC, but now I know minus the SC. What a great looking car. Thanks Michschi!

PS: Love the splitter, oh I already said that! ;)

Someone a couple years ago posted up a Photoshop of his black SGT with silver SuperSnake stripes. I thought it looked really good! I wouldn't say it takes away from the original look, just puts a personal spin on it. We are talking tape so it doesn't have to be a permanent mod if you don't want it to be. Many have made changes that suit there personal taste that is not a 'Shelby' mod like a Edelbrock SC, or 'non' Shelby wheels. If you willing to spend the cash I am certain that SA would change th stripes for you then you can claim it's a Shelby mod.

Hell, you have me considering a change to the SuperSnake stripe.

Are the lower stripe painted along with the valance? How much did they charge you for the valance and was it worth it? I think it give the car a cleaner look, I have been thinkiing of painting mine for a while now. However I will add vinyl stripes to match my new stripes. Love the look, very top of the line finishes it appears.

Yes the stripes on the original splitter and the original splitter is painted. I was charged 300 and it was worth every penny. I am having the stripes painted on my new hood when I get it any day now. Hopefully I can afford to have the rest of the stripes painted but next summer.

OK the original stripes are 2 down the center on a Shelby GT, period. So you take that away and do a SS stripe doesn't that mean you have moved away from the original look of a Shelby GT? When I put my GT500 spoiler on my car it took away the originality of the car because these cars did not come with a GT500 spoiler, to the best of my knowledge. So any time you do something to a Shelby GT that was not put on at SA during or after the build it does take away from the originality of the car. Sorry El Shelby but ...................ya you get it. But I do agree do anything you want it is your car! :)

Point being, bolt on some 14" wire wheels with narrow whitewalls, paint it pink with airbrushed Unicorns battling King Kong during a ranging tornado on the moon, at the end of the day it's still a Shelby GT.

Point being, not withstanding that it looks good, it does take away from the originality of the car. Yes at the end of the day it is still a Shelby GT but there are original Shelby GT's and modified Shelby GT's a modified Shelby GT has taken the originality away from the car and input the owners personal preferences, which I do and you do.

But it is what it is, non-original.

Whoa guys. I really didn't start this thread to discuss originality. I suppose there is a point that you could jeopardize the Shelby name, but that would be with a ton of modifications. If your a nut and bolt original type of guy, I suppose anything that didn't come from SAI isn't going to be an upgrade. But, it's still a Shelby GT. Besides, the stripe I'm considering is still a Shelby design.
