Cdvision
I installed my hood struts today and got rid of the ugly prop rod. It looks much nicer with the struts, I got them on sale at CJ Pony Parts. They look OEM and work great. Easy install. It took about 1/2 hour. 1wickedgt500
Looks great, IMO our cars should come like that. I forget who makes it but a company on here sells a painted piece to match the car that replaces the black plastic piece where your hood prop was, the painted piece looked pretty cool. Anyway, looks good!

Very easy one man operation. I just took a pencil and put an alignment mark on the hinge and a mark on the hood. I think they are by far the best looking strut kit. They're still on sale at CJ's. BlueByU
Bought my strut kit though CJ Pony for x-mas. Did not have a chance to install them yet. I also bought a extra set of struts, in chase later on one of the struts breaks. CJ Pony has a different part number# for the extra struts. If someone wants the part number for theextra struts let me know, I have the part number in my garage. I also have a 2011GT500 Grabber Blue and looking forward to install my strut kit, when it turned nice out. Great job on your car.

I did the same thing...removed them after install. If you have access to a steam cleaner they come off right away. That's what I used. If not, use Goo Gone and take your time. It's designed to remove glue and stuff and is citrus based so it won't hurt the finish. Yes, those labels have to go.

I've been wanting these for quite a while and see these come in Race Red so I jumped on them. $119 with tax. Thanks for posting! I installed those on my '11 a few days ago. Got an email from CJPP that they heard of fitment issues for the '11s. I told them to ship them anyway. They arrived and took 30-45 min to install and look great. (I had previously installed a set on my '09) Good Luck!

Cdvision
I see you , like me , live in Canada . How much was the total in Canadian $$$ to get them bought and shipped to you . $143 CDN. Our dollar is still higher than the US buck but shipping is more for me out on the west coast. They send them USPS/Canada Post and there was no extra duty or charges upon delivery.

BigDan
Do your own homework. Lol I bet the bare aluminum would look pretty good and they cost less. Already tried :P Below are the email reply's to a comment I tried to leave on their site that they never posted because I guess they don't want customers to know that they no longer cater to 2011 and 2012 model year paint codes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The manufacturer is saying that Ingot Silver is not yet available for the hood struts. If they become available in the future, we will get them added to our website ASAP. We do have the unpainted/bare aluminum versions available if you would like to have them painted on your own. http://www.cjponyparts.com/HOOD-LIFT-SUPPORT-KIT-GT500-2007-2010/p/HDGL6/ Thanks, Dan Nelson | Web/Graphic Design | CJPonyParts.com<http://CJPonyParts.com> Your Best Source for Mustang Parts! 1-800-888-6473 <http://www.cjponyparts.com/>'>http://www.cjponyparts.com/>'>http://www.cjponyparts.com/>'>http://www.cjponyparts.com/>'>http://www.cjponyparts.com/>'>http://www.cjponyparts.com/>'>http://www.cjponyparts.com/>'>http://www.cjponyparts.com/>'>http://www.cjponyparts.com/>'>http://www.cjponyparts.com/>'>http://www.cjponyparts.com/>'>http://www.cjponyparts.com/>'>http://www.cjponyparts.com/>[cid:8FE01086-2D5F-4DFB-818D-721ACB72D612] <http://www.cjponyparts.com/> <http://www.cjponyparts.com/> On Feb 21, 2011, at 6:38 PM, I'm looking for the hood struts painted in Ingot Silver for my 2011 GT500.
