Skinny Blue Metallic Stripes on a Black 2011Vert - MrFarmdog Style!!!

I had one of my local buddies that wanted to add stripes on his black GT500 vert but could not decide on what he wanted. He liked the flat black look like was on my car but wanted something different. He liked the skinny stripes and thought blue would be a cool color since he has his interior lights set up as blue in MYCOLOR. We decided to try this blue metallic vinyl, that is lighter than Vista Blue. I have to admit that I was skeptical at first but after we got the stripes on his car I have to say I was impressed!

Here are some pics without the stripes...

Like my other stripes I used my spacers for the install. This one is .8 inches wide and the stripes were 4.5 inches wide. Notice that the hood stripes terminate on top of the hood and are rounded for that "factory" look.

The stripes were cut so there is no need to remove the hood vents or grill work. In most cases they slide right under the plastic so almost no trimming is required. Actually the only trimming needed is on the stripes that are on the nose of the car above the grill. These are trimmed where they meet the hood and then are tucked under the rubber seal for an absolute factory installed look!

For the rear of the car all we had to do was remove the E and the L. The stripes were cut for a perfect fit around the faux gas cap so no removal is required. We used my 2011 lettering template to reinstall the letters in the factory location.

One cool thing about this vinyl is it is somewhat translucent so on a black car the stripes transition to a purple hue.

I hope you all like them as much as I do!

Farmdog - Looks great. Any problems with removing the E and the L from the trunk lid? That's one of my concerns when I put stripes on mine... want to be sure the "stripe guy" knows what he's doing to properly remove and replace those letters. Thanks...

No it is very easy. Just take some fishing line to start the removal process and lift the letters then remove them. I also offer a template to help get them back in the right place if needed.
