GT500-07
not bad http://www.trufiber.com/Trufiber_Mustang_Roadster_Ram_Air_Hood_p/tf10024-a51.htm
jmn444
hmmmm, for the price, I'd consider cutting that scoop off and fabbing it to work with the sgt scoop to have the functional ram air ducting.... I'd like to see the underside first though!
jmn444
I'm gonna email for some measurements, curious if that opening will be approx where the sgt scoop sits and if it will all clear the whipple too!
jmn444
more pics well shit, it would take more work than I want to do to put the sgt scoop in the right place, but it does look cool!
socalwrench
Yeah, I posted information about this earlier. It's a nice hood. It uses the Roush style scoop molded into the the hood, but it has the functional ducting built into it. If the SGT scoop were wider, then you could cut off the molded one and use it instead. slbgtsc
I looked at this hood a few years back and I asked about SC'r clearance and if memory serves you lose about 1" of underhood clearance. Looks great. Kind of heavy though.
kahmann
I really dig the design of the functional ducting. Very creative and it looks a lot cleaner than the Shakers or ram air (KR style) hoods. Cool find for sure. Too bad it's styling doesn't mimic the SGT instead of the Cobra! rush_junky
The molded scoop is also farther to the rear than the SGT scoop.
jmn444
yeah, that's the part that'd take too much effort to rebuild for me oh well, the car is fine the way it is I suppose, just thought it'd be neat to have a functional hood
kahmann
^Cutting a hole in the hood and making your existing scoop functional is pretty damn easy man. And it's got to help with under hood temps. The only issue I had with it, after making the cut, was that the front end seemed to lift a little more at very high speeds. Since installing the hood vents, that problem has disappeared.
jmn444
I know, it was having the idea that cooler air would magically make it to the air filter that had me going.... Probably no more functional either way, I just liked the duct work. I wonder if having the scoop further back actually gets airflow working like a ram air... I would venture to say that it would work excellent for heat extraction especial if you removed the rubber molding that runs the lenght of the backside of the hood that Is held to the underside of the hood by 10-12 little clips. Once the under hood rubber molding is removed it helps extract the hot air out the back of the hood along the whole lenght of the base of the windsheild and will only help with the hole that you would cut to make the stock hood scoop flow air better. As far as fresh air going directly to the air filter there would be very little unless you did ducting which we have found out with the past super snake air flow issues with varying air amounts flowing n playing tricks on the mass air sensor n shutting the car down n throwing codes B.O.L I personally am hoping to have A deep draw hood installed this summer.
