MattInDetroit
is that the dash plaque for the GT500, or the SGT? GT500. It doesn't ship with one.
blueshawk
GT500. It doesn't ship with one. I believe, that the GT500 is acutally made at a Ford plant and NOT outfitted at SAI. So does that would mean my Shelby GT is a TRUE Shelby and the GT500 is not? Makes me like my GT even more (even though I would have bought a GT500 long ago if I had the money). I saw, for the first time, a GT500 yesterday at the dealership that I bought my Shelby GT from. It was a red conv. Now I don't like ragtops so I'd never buy one but I loved the tires, interior and all the snake emblems. The SHELBY letters on the left of the trunk lid do NOT look as good as the S H E L B Y letters across the trunk lid like the Shelby GT. I think the GT500 is badass, but the looks of the Shelby GT is "Bitchin".
ShelbyPilot
I own a 2007 Shelby GT. The 2007 Shelby GT500s and the Shelby GT are both "REAL" Shelbys. Just like the 1966 Shelbys built by Mr. Shelby's company in Los Angeles and the 1968 Shelbys built by Ford in Michigan are both "REAL" Shelbys. As much as I would like my Shelby GT to be on a higher plane than the Shelby GT500 it just isn't the case. In my opinion, the 2007 Shelby GT500 currently is and will always be on a bit higher station than the Shelby GT. Not just because of the 500 HP but also because it has the magical GT500 in its name. NO, I did not settle for the Shelby GT because I couldn't get a GT500. I was waiting for a dealer to get his second GT500 allocated when I heard about the Shelby GT. With the addition of a supercharger making 470 HP and the brake package, I picked the car I believe is a better performer. And yes I can afford the GT500. Heck, I am paying about the same in the long run with modifications to my Shelby GT then I would of had to pay for a GT500 with ADM.

BTW, how much does the S/C and the brake package cost?
ShelbyPilot
.....installed at SAI the polished supercharger will cost $6395 and the brake package will cost $2400. Keep in mind if you get the brake package you then also have to get lwheels to fit over them. Depending on what you choose, that could run from $1,000-8,000. The brakes may cost me something else because I have to have them installed when I get home. My wheels are being delivered to my house from another vendor. Below is a link of the stuff the Shelby Mod shop will install for you and their rate: http://forum.shelbyautos.com/index.php?showtopic=
