Hood Scoop Warranty Details

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Sorry for this request but for the life of me I cannot find the information for warranty claim etc (previously seen on forum) that I need to take to the dealer. Seems like one of you guys posted this sometime ago. From what I recall this document basically spelled out the warranry information and required steps for the dealer.

If you have this info or a link to it I sure would appreciate it if you could send my way.

Thanks Much!

-Billy

Here ya go!

Shelby will send EXTREMELY detailed install guides for the scoop and stripes with the parts, your dealer needs to just let someone who can READ look at them then. It's nothing complex or difficult. But they NEED to be followed exactly.

Man, you guys are great!! Thanks so much!

I have followed the threads off and on for the past two years or so and had decided not to follow through with the fix however over the past few months I have noticed the scoop is becomming more deformed and suscpect it will only get worse. That is why I got myself back on the form to check with you guys and try to catch up with the latest experiences.

I live in Wichita KS and figured I may need to check with dealerships within a radius of up to, say 200 miles and if I can find a dealer that has this procedue down pat then I would sure drive to that dealer. I have yet to check with any dealer here in Wichita as I wanted to get my hands on the info that you just sent me before talking to a dealer.

I purchased my car new in June of 2008 so I am getting close.

Once again, Thanks!!!

Billy,

You are absolutely right to search carefully to find an EXPERIENCED Ford dealer. Can't stress it enough. Gaudin Ford here in Vegas DESTROYED my car trying to do these procedures. It took me almost ALL of last year to get it RE-fixed to my standards. Be picky. And I can also say, the "Shelby Relationship Center" in Detroit (not Shelby, a division of Ford that supervises these things) wants you to be happy. Lean on them, call anytime and be vocal if/when stuff goes wrong. The Vegas team will work with them to take care of you. If you're in doubt, and can't find a dealer you like, walk away, and pay a high-end bodyshop. Well worth the lack of drama.

Again, just my 2 cents, your mileage may vary.

Remember you DO NOT need to have the dealer do the work. You must however go through a dealer to get the work done. You'll need to coordinate things, pay any costs above Ford's warranty reimbursement, but it shouldn't be any trouble as long as you take responsibility for the work.

I would get the scoop replaced. It will only get worse and while many, including myself, have had challenges, if you get a good body shop, download and print the tips and tricks, you should be fine.

Good luck!
