New Gears & Springs. Girdle?

Recommended Posts

Brown delivered my FRPP 3.73 gears (M-4209-F373N) and lowering springs (M-5300-L) today, which will be installed in the coming weeks. I also purchased the installation kit, lube, and friction modifier. I was wondering whether any of you guys with new gears also added a differential girdle?

FRPP has a nice cover (M-4033-G2) with a low profile that will accommodate my BMR adjustable panhard bar. It also has load bolts for additional support for the differential bearing caps and improves the stiffness of the housing assembly.

Is this a recommended item, or overkill for a weekend warrior? Thanks!

The part list just states 10 bolts. They look to be stainless steel, but not 100% certain... Definitely not black oxide.

That's good. I replaced the black oxide bolts that came with mine with chrome-plated grade 8 bolts; they look much better too. Another added benefit of the cover is the increased oil capacity; should help to keep the gear oil a bit cooler.

I agree...

Good to know... Thanks
