Madlock
Jalopnik had some stellar things to say about BOSS 302/302 LS today. Of course, it's generally in comparison to GT, but suspension and seems to be where it really shines - above and beyond ways GT500 is meant to, even with the SVTPP. http://jalopnik.com/#!5769207/2012-ford-mustang-boss-302-first-drive An essential element to this seems to be the lowered chassis on stiffer springs and adjustable dampers. GT500 SVTPP seems to be half-way there with its lower springs and stiffer rates, but the Ford Racing adjustable dampers seem to be true missing link to give GT500 what BOSS 302 may have superseded. The author clearly differentiates between 302 and the 302 LS's different adjustable dampers - with LS stiffness effectively being where the baseline 302 leaves-off. I presume the baseline 302 uses the M-18000-C dampers from the FR-3 pack for the 2011 SVTPP. Does anybody know which adjustable dampers the LS uses? The only obvious option I can see is the 2010 Cobra Jet Set (M-18000-CJ). Does anybody know with certainty which adjustable dampers the 302LS uses? 2010KonaBlueGT
I presume the baseline 302 uses the M-18000-C dampers from the FR-3 pack for the 2011 SVTPP. The 2011 SVTPP does not use the M-18000-C adjustable dampners from the FR3 handling pack, front OR rear. In fact, they use the same (non-adjustable) front struts that the "base" 2011 GT500 uses, which I also suspect are the very same front struts used on the 2010 GT500. The build sheet for the 2011 GT500 w/SVTPP says it uses "unique rear shocks" but they are NOT adjustable and they are certainly not the same shocks used in the FR3 FRPP handling pack. 2010KonaBlueGT
Never presumed it did. Look at the statement you made that I quoted where you say: "I presume the baseline 302 uses the M-18000-C dampers from the FR-3 pack for the 2011 SVTPP." The 2011 SVTPP is a GT500 with the SVT Performance Package (which does NOT use the FR3 PP)...unless they are using the same designation (SVTPP) on a Boss 302 model. Oh, wait...I think I see what you were trying to convey. You were saying that (you presumed) the Boss 302 used the same dampners (shocks/struts) from the FRPP/FR3 pack, that CAN BE USED on the 2011 GT500 w/SVTPP (or base model, or '07-'09 GT500) as a upgrade.... Or am I still misundertanding you? Phill
Madlock
Look at the statement you made that I quoted where you say: "I presume the baseline 302 uses the M-18000-C dampers from the FR-3 pack for the 2011 SVTPP." i did look at it. I wrote it. Unless I'm mistaken - and so is Ford Racing Parts web site, the M-18000-C dampers are part of the FR3 Pack for the 2011 SVTPP. "for" not "from".
