BluPete
I did the same thing to my car a couple of month ago. I only did the red on the outside of the stripes. I also did it to the side stripes. My car is Grabber blue and it took me a bit to warm up to it but I do like it now. It looks great with the Kona blue. It’s some times the little things that make a car stand out.

2010KonaBlueGT
Does the red accent cover all the stripes any pictures? The accent stripes actually "butt" up to the stripes, they do not "lap" over them at all. I did it to ALL the stripes from the front to the rear and over the top. I also did my side rocker stripes but only top/bottom, not the middle section AND I did it with a 1/8" stripe (vs. the 1/4" on the OTT stripes) so it's half as thin. I get a LOT of compliments on it. It really makes the white stripes "pop". I actually had the detail guy at the dealershipt come and find me to tell me how much he liked my accent stripes! And *everyone* says "they look factory installed" so they don't look like a afterthought, they look like "they belong". And I did mine LONG before Ford did the same thing on their 2011 SVTPP cars too! (I can say THEY stole the idea from me, not the other way around <LOL>). Like I said in another post....."It's all in the details". Thanks for all the compliments, Phill

2010KonaBlueGT
Did you use 3M pinstripe? Did the install yourself, if so how long did it take? thanx I just pulled out the package. I used "PROSTRIPE". I boght it at Pep Boys in the decal/stripe section. I did it myself and it didn't take all that long. I didn't do it all in one stretch but I'd say a full day would cover it. The one "secret" I found is not to 'stetch' the tape as you're applying it. LAY it down along side of the OE stripe then wipe your finger/thumb across it to stick it down. I used a single edge razor blade to cut the ends by sitting the blade on the end edge of the OE stripe and just pulling up on the accent stripe so it would follow the line of the OE stripe at the end. I tucked the ends under the hood vent and the rear spoiler. I did remove the Sirrius antenna and lay the stripe under it but not the faux gas cap. I also used thinner tape for my side stripes so they wouldn't overwhelm the rocker stripes with 1/4" accents (I used 1/8" on the rockers). 2010KonaBlueGT
Phil any chance you could post some pictures of your car ? Thanks It's up on 4 jackstands in my garage right now but it's in the "going back together stage" now so as soon as I get her all done, I will be taking some good usable shots of the complete car. I have a lot of people that want to see how the 18" KR Alcoa's look on the 2010 too.... Now in UT after retiring from the AF. Dollar twenty five flag decal from the BX. I cut a piece of paper the same size as the flag, cut it in half and then used it to make a rough template by holding it in place and pressing with my fingers to leave an impression of the cap. I cut the decal and trim it with an exacto knife. By the way I love black cars. I had a black 2008 California Special before my Shelby. Everyone says that they are so hard to keep clean, I guess they need washing a little more then some other colors but when they are clean, man they look good. I live in Steilacoom. I am also retired Air Force.
