svt boost
Has anyone bought the FRPP SVTPP 19" wheels yet? I am curious about the color, if they are darker or lighter than the SVTPP wheels. They look a little lighter to me online...
Tob
From the comments and photos I've heard/seen - they are an identical match in terms of color.
Madlock
I own them. They are identical.
Mulanzo
Madlock... you got the 19"s for the rears?

Mulanzo
I read in another post you were gonna widen the stock 20s instead.... did you give up on the 19s? I was considering the 19s myself but the options are making that seem pretty useless, at least where widening (and matching overall diameter) is concerned. Madlock
I read in another post you were gonna widen the stock 20s instead.... did you give up on the 19s? I was considering the 19s myself but the options are making that seem pretty useless, at least where widening (and matching overall diameter) is concerned. Not "instead", but "both". I'll wind-up with two sets comprised of six wheels consisting of 4 x 275/40-19 and a 2 x 315/35-20 ExtremeContact DWS - one rear set for comfort - the other for performance, though the 315/35-20 may wind-up giving as much additional sidewall as the 275/40-19 over stock. Whether I go to two full-blown sets really depends upon how well the DWS hold on track days - but given everything I've read, despite being an all-season tire, they're right up there with the OE tires, except perhaps maybe at their hottest. And from the little relevant experience I've had with them on my Taurus SHO, (245/45-20), they're dynamite. If the 315/35-20's work for well for both, so much the better. I'm sure, over time, or maybe even sooner, I'll have another pair of 20's to have two complete sets - including the option of going to 20's all-around if I want. If anybody has 20's to offer, drop me a line - before I buy them elsewhere.
Mulanzo
Yikes...that's a lot of rubber. Don't steal all the 20's going around :P . As for your tire programming discovery.... what's the verdict on that? Is it worth reprogramming for a marginal difference in diameter? If I go with a 19 and the sidewall has a higher aspect ratio (this is all theoretical because I haven't checked on any tire calculator about this) will the increased diameter be cause enough for a tire size reprogramming? Say if the diameter were different by >3%?

For me, I'd do it as a matter of course, but every car has variance due to tread wear anyway, so there are no absolutes. It's just something I'd choose to do/have done for the sake of due diligence - and for knowing I've done the right thing (like turning off the TV).
