Where to get Rear Brake Cooling Ducts?

A while back I passed up an opportunity to purchase what I was told where Rear Brake cooling ducts from a KR. Now I'm wishing I had bought them. Does anyone know where/if you can get these anymore?

I've never seen 'em on a KR but I know they were on Super Snakes. A TS forum member had a set for sale but they attach to the stock/OEM lower control arms so I couldn't use them (I have Roush tube arms) but I did see some pretty good pics of them.

My understanding is that they are a standard feature on the Super Snakes upgrades for the GT500.

Tasca has some for sale: http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php?/topic/65181-shelby-parts-sale/page__view__findpost__p__1115365

And the vendor I mentioned previously is here: http://www.frpcustoms.com/products.htm

They had Rear Kits on display at SEMA, you might need to contact them for more info.

I'm going to build Custom Rear Brake Cooling Ducts for my Stang. It will have a large Stainless Steel Mouth Scoop with 2.5" Stainless Steel Pipeing. The large Mouth Scoop will mount under the Car in front of the Gas Tank. My question is....... I plan to have the Pipe aimed at the Rotor & Brake Pad area. Will that be enough cool air? I also am designing a set for the Front Brakes as well. Photos will be forth coming soon. :happy feet:

My offer still stands anyone who can bring a car to Seattle I will make the side scoops functional for free...you buy parts...

I like the rear 1/4 window NASA duct through the rear shelf hose kit myself...looks cool and supposedly works great....

I understand the desired for the rear cooling ducts for the cool factor, but they are not needed from a performace perspective. I'm 99.9% sure the Boss 302r and FR500 do not use them in the Grand-Am series.

I'll be 100% honest... the cool factor is all I wanted them for. I just think they are a fun piece and while still not maybe necessary, still functional. And I know it's silly to have rear ducts before front ducts... but I generally don't do ANYTHING in the proper order anyway!

  • 1 month later...

I too want them for the COOL factor. Kr's do not come with them. I want them on my KR> I got pics this weekend form a GT350 at the Hershey show and it is a neat concept. If you find a fabricator that makes them, please pm me. It is not rocket science, but hard to find the time to make up a new wheel when a good one already has been created. Thanks!
