Supersnake stripe kit

Does anyone know where I can order the supersnake stripe at??

Strange ast it may sound I'd consider Supersnaking my 07 Black w/red appearance package GT500 if they would've put a Red stripe back on instead of the flat black. I called and asked and they said "no way" and it didn't seem right that I'd pay for the limited red Stripe and then have that part of the car undone by Supersnaking it. Oh well, just saying.

Sorry it's off-topic.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to "retain" the factory red stripes but SA will replace them with their version of "red" stripes and unless they have changed the shade with the SE, their red is a softer (lighter?) red but red nontheless.

Another alternative you've already mentioned is of course to do the SS conversion and install the aftermarket SS stripes of your choosing since it really dosen't detract from the original as it can easily be returned to stock and of course you realize all the beneifts of being a "Super Snake" owner and won't have to endure the loneliness of us b**tard children. On the plus side the SE will have a very low build number and having seen the car in person at the Bash last month I have to say that the pictures don't do it justice, I even reconsidered my opinion of the wheels (a little).

Let us know what you decide.

Well, when I went to look at the brochure it said only for 08 and 09's. This makes me think that the alotted 500 07's are already taken. I probalby wouldn't like the softer red stripes as I really like the tomato red stripes on my car that sometimes look almost orange depending on the intensity of the sun / lighting. The Super Snake option would required some excellent salesmanship on my part to get it through the puchasing department (the wife) but I really like the mods on them and without the red stripe option it lessens my desire.

I know I could do the Super Snake mods without the package but I'm a 48 year old whose old school. The first thing I think when I see an original muscle car from the 60's or 70's is all of that stuff origianl and is that how the car came new. Awhile back I saw an 07 Tungsten Silver vert with all the Red Appearance options at a Shelby show. I told him that wasn't original and that a dealer must have done that and he got real defensive. I walked away thinking he got ripped if he felt he had a one-off. I noticed the car on ebay about 3 weeks ago and I could tell by the description that he was still defending this as an original Red Appearance and that he was still defensive. Too bad---First of all; no Red Appearance vert for 07.

I'm not thinking of my car as a collector / investment, or rare, I run it hard when i drive it; I just like "original". This is not to detract from or disrespect people who've done what I think are some really neat and cool mods to their cars. In fact, I love to see them when folks post pics here.

Man I love our cars, the SA versions, the Shelby GT's and the factory / modded GT500's. I'm so proud to have one.

Anxiously awaiting spring

We have just completed a 3.6 L 2009 "Red Stripe" package SE. With the 3.6 L Kenne Bell we changed the hood for the customer to the SS hood and striped as a GT-500. It is now going into Shelby American Motorsport for cams, valve train upgrade, long tubes, off road X, cat delete, Borla Stingers, rear anti-hop kit, tunnell brace/drive shaft loop and more.

The possibilities with the SAM division are endless. Watch for the Shelby American Motorsport selection on the forum coming soon.

Anyone can reach them at 702-942-1719. As for Gil, CJ or Frankie.

Hope this helps.

Roger, did you have the stripes done in vinyl or were they painted on?

Well, when I went to look at the brochure it said only for 08 and 09's. This makes me think that the alotted 500 07's are already taken.

Sort of, The "SE"'s for 2007 were actually the "40th Anniversary" cars which has completed it's run of ? cars. Owners of the '08, '09 GT500's wanted a "40th Anniversary" package they could call their own, so SA developed the "Special Edition". You may notice that the options are very simular but SA finally heeded the cries of a lot of enthusiasts and alowed other than silver stripes.

I absolutely understand your veiw on originality as being an important consideration in your decision process. But you may want to put extra effort into considering a SS with all of it's pedigree, original badging and Shelby support and then just swap out the stripes to suit your taste (as others have done) and then swap back if you ever change your mind. The gentleman that had the "'07 red stripe vert" and tried to pass it off as an original probably new (or should have know) he was wrong but if you have an original Super Snake they can't take that away from you even if you do swap the stripes as it still maintains that "wow" factor but then again so does the SE.

You make a very convincing argument for your "pro" SS stance! I must admit that I can imagine her setting in the garage.

Yeah, I am one of the "step children" that purchsed a 40th Anniversary but I'm content as it will have very low numbers as well and am modding my car to satisfy the owner.....ME!

Did I mention that if you convert to a SS you will be able to retain your "red snakes" (again low numbers)?

Shelby GT500 SuperSnake.........Just do it!.......Does a body (and testosterone reservoir) good.

"Imagining" is how I ended up with my car. You know, interest rates are low and you may have equity in your home (tax free) and wives don't need to know EVERYTHING.............Just sayin.

BTW, as I have said before, these words are invisible to wives (so don't worry).

I bought my kit from Rider Graphics. Their web site is www.ridergraphix.com . Brian Rider was very helpful. I am having my parts and stripes installed now. I am going for the SS look. My projects web site is http://www.countycorvette.com/customers/bonacci.htm if you would like to see some pictures of the build. The stripes go on next week.
