FRPP parts warranties?

Will the FRPP parts that were warrantied at the time of installation be covered if I purchase one of Fords exteneded warranty plans? My 3yr/36,000 warranty is up next month. The 2 year warranty is already expired on the FRRP parts that were installed when I purchased it. Will those FRPP parts be covered?

That's going to depend on your extended warranty insurance policy coverage statement. Read it carefully and note words like "Shall" and "Must", "Never" and "Always". There IS a difference....

I do remember something about Ford Racing stating that their parts ARE NOT OEM or FORD MOTOR COMPANY PARTS and should be considered aftermarket parts, so if your policy doesn't cover aftermarket or performance add-ons, the anwer *could* be "NO". Again, read the verbage of your policy carefully.

But to be honest, the warranty is only as good as the Service Advisor who calls the insurance company and gets the repair pre-approved. S/he can make or break the policy coverage.

And that's ALL a "extended warranty" is, a insurance policy.

And you don't necessarily have to have the work performed by a FORD dealer, just a "licensed auto repair dealer (facility)" (i.e. any legit/licensed ARD). I worked at a independant shop and we did extended warranty work on customers cars all the time. It was a pain in the ass because the ins. co. always tried to lowball or underpay us (negotiate on parts/labor prices) but we always stuck to our guns and said "this is the price WE charge, if you don't like it you can tell your customer". And since it was up to the customer where they had their work performed, they'd always deny the ins. company the ability to tow it elsewhere and have us do the work for them.

But beware, all policy's are NOT THE SAME...
