Son of GT
Welcome, welcome, a thousand welcome's. Interior color options? Odds are the 08' 500 will get the same interior options that the 07' had, with the exception of "mood lighting". The interior colors are driven by Ford's objective to mimic the original interior colors offered on the 1967 and 68' MY 500's. I also imagine that the logo on the rear deck lid of the 08' will be S H E L B Y as it was back in 68'. But I don't think that they will be bringing back the faux wood grain glove box door and center console trim that was on the 68' KR's. And let's not forget about the real wood T-handle gear slector that had a small cast metal cobra snake affixed to it on the Automatic transmission equipped cars. Hey, I wonder if they will offer an Automatic 500 in 08? NAH, they wouldn't do that... would they?

nilkilla
If it runs with the same dates as the regular mustangs, then the 2007 gt500s will have a final order date of 05/11/2007. The last day/spec change is 05/04/2007. 2007s do not have an annouced final build date. 2008s order banks open 04/16/07. scheduling will start 05/17/07. 2008 job 1 date shows at 6/25/2007. all of this is subject to change, but this is as of 03/21/

nilkilla
on our 2007 gt500s we weren't notified of our TRUE allocation until about 2 weeks ago. (the number officially came to 20 cars, and we have 3 or 4 available to order still) basically with a limited production car, it is all about submitting all the orders that you can feasibly sell and then keep submitting them until ford closes the order banks. in fact, we had a 2006 Ford GT showing in our order bank up until 6 or 7 months ago, lol. I talked to a very small dealership and they did get certified to sell the GT500 but where they are at there was not a market for this car, so they did not order one and nobody came to them asking to order one. They said they would definately order an 08 for me when the banks open up. So I wanted to make sure they put an order in on the date that it opens so I might actually get one in 07 calender year. Does anyone think that if a dealership would have a problem getting an 08, if they didnt order a car in 07 ??? Thanks

Thanks It doesn't matter when they order as long as they have allocation from Ford to get one they will eventually get it. Ford determines when your allocation comes up. So as long as you order it by the time their allocation comes due it will get scheduled. So if they put the order in as soon as the order bank opens, it could be scheduled the following month or not until May of the following year. Ford will pull and schedule it whenever that dealer's allocation comes up. BTW, Ford is saying 4/16/07 as the date the order bank opens for the 08 mustang. 5.4 Shelby
Thanks very much for the information... Keeping my fingers crossed, and hope it is pulled early.. LOL As it might end up being a pretty decent deal.. If they are certified and did not order a car, then they should still be able to get an 07. With no interest to this point in the car, I would think they would be happy to sell it at MSRP.

Big_Slick737
Yea you might have a good shot there. Yes since they didnt order an O7, they Said they would be VERY happy to order me an 08 GT500, and from talking to them I am pretty sure that I could get it for less than 5K over and possibly even at MSRP. I think I even asked them 2 or 3 times if they went through the certification process to sell these cars. They verified that they were certified. Wish me Luck !! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:

The '07's are the 40th year of them so for some people that's all that matters. I just want one so to me it doesn't matter what year as long as it's sitting in my garage. Yeah and something about Mood lighting on the interior... I am not worried about the model year either, or about collectability as I was wanting to purchase the next HP Mustang that FORD produced before it was announced what the car would be, it just happen to turn out to be a Shelby. :happy feet: The only other thing i can think of is that if I order an 07 model i might get it sooner than if i order an 08 but that would not necessarily be true, it would all depend on when Ford pulled the order and scheduled the build ??? Does that sound correct?

When does the order bank close for 07s ? Thanks 5/11 is the final order due date for 07 models. Order banks for 08 will open 4/16, but Ford won't start scheduling any 08 orders until 5/17 and the first day of production on 08 begins on 6/25 So all the remaining 07 models must be ordered by 5/11 and those will all get built before 6/25. So the last of any 07 models should be delivered to dealers by the end of June and the 08 models would start hitting lots around the end of July. Give or take a week or two. chuckstang
Shelby Dude, is there any way to know what dealers have any 07 allocations left where you could still place a custom ordered 2007 gt500?? I like the idea of getting one this summer rather than waiting till the end of the summer! thanks
nilkilla
Our dealer has 3 orders remaining. but we received as many if not more GT500 allotment than any other dealer. IF a dealer has anymore GT500s alloted, they would know by now.

chuckstang
Every dealer I have spoken to claim that they have already recieved their 07 allotment. How many roughly would you say are still out there that have not been ordered and built for 2007? Not only is what I am looking for (all black coupe no stripes) tough to find but also I want to keep the options to a min to keep costs down. I only want that $600 interior upgrade lol. thanks!
