Cali_KR
HUGE California Traffic Tickets Fines Effective 01/06/2011 Please be extremely careful in your driving and car registration & insurance matters. State of California is broke and they are trying hard to squeeze all of us hard to collect money. Effective immediately, if you do not stop at the red light, be ready to pay $436 in fines or if you pass a school bus with flashing red signals, you will be charged $616.* The state of California is going for blood, so be extra careful in driving, you cannot afford messing with them.* I have been hearing that Highway Patrols are under pressure to issue a lot more tickets than last year with at least 30% increase in fines over 2009, so beware of radar guns, highway and traffic cameras installed everywhere and the tougher enforcement of parking rules. Just for your info, the next time you park in the handicapped zone, even for a minute, you will be looking at almost $ 1000 in parking ticket, so it'd better be worth it. California needs money, so pay close attention to the rules of the road! Traffic Ticket Fines (Effective 01/06/2011) VC 12814.6* * $214* * * Failure to obey license provisions. Do you think personally, that he is the reason for Cal.s going broke? Solely? Chris Arnold started in the middle/right and found out quickly that you can't get anything though the broken state legislature. He slowly moved left but still couldn't get anything done. As much as Brown is like a bad rerun, he might actually be able to get the legislature to pass some positive changes. Regardless, this state is broken, taxpayers are leaving and someone has to pick up the mess.

Torch40
Cali-Kr, I am genuinely interested in your Californian opinion on Arnold. Do you think personally, that he is the reason for Cal.s going broke? Solely? Chris Just like the President, the Governor of California does not spend the money. The Legislature does. The Governor can only propose a budget. So to answer your question, No, Arnold is not the reason for California's problems.
SVT NAJA
Cali-Kr, I am genuinely interested in your Californian opinion on Arnold. Do you think personally, that he is the reason for Cal.s going broke? Solely? Chris Chris, Our state was going broke LONG before Arnold took office, because our elected officials in Sacramento spent (and continue to spend) WAY more money each year on dream budgets than the revenues coming in to the Contollers office can pay for. One of the most significant financial drains to the state comes from the burden of providing mandatory services (education, medical, etc.) to our huge illegal immigrant population. Funny how that works... if you're a legal licensed citizen you have the above fines to pay for violating the traffic laws, but if you're an illegal citizen violating the immigration law, you get taxpayer paid benefits? Only in Kalifornia, USA.

stormeaston
I'm glad Wisconsin sent you guys 810 million of the Obama stimulus money, they wanted to build a high speed rail with that money between Miwaukee and Chicago. The problem was that it was projected to loose 8 million dollars a year and the tax payer would have to pick-up the bill. Well we all know if they project 8 million it was gonna be 15 million a year. The new Gov came in and put a stop to it! So now you guys can spend it on some worthless transportation project.

BIKEBOY
Who thinks that these laws will also breed contempt between citizens and law enforcement? What happened in Tucson could be viewed as such, Robert...or was that your point? I for one am concerned that good people that would normally WANT to serve our great country, may give second thoughts from here on out?
1badsho
I think all states who are financially crippled are doing anything and everything to raise revenue. In Florida are DMV fees for plates, registrations, renewals have tripled over the past few years. I dont know if our speeding fines state wide have increased but I dont have to worry about it too much ...... thanks to my wifes " LAW ENFORCEMENT BADGE" ........ :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
