Son of GT
As most of you know by now, our friend Joe Gosinski was taken from us last Christmas Eve. A couple of his close friends decided to have a memorial cruse this Sunday at 10AM from Huntington Beach to Joe's shop in Torrance. THIS IS AN INFORMAL cruse that has been endorsed by his family members, and a "offical" memorial will be held later this month. Details of that memorial will be announced at a later date. The following is the announcement that was posted by a Jim Dvorak who is the Managing Director of the Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club. Joe worked at Saleen for several years before he opened up his own shop. Jim posted this information on the behalf of Jared Chavez, who is another friend of Joe. Subject: FW: Joe Gosinski Memorial Cruise - This Sunday, January 2 The Saleen Owners club has put together a cruise honoring Joe Gosinski for this Sunday. Details are as follows: Please join friends, customers, employees, fans and others for the Joe Gosinski Memorial Cruise -- Sunday, January 2, 2011 -- 10:00 a.m. This is an informal memorial cruise in honor of the recent passing of our good friend, Joe Gosinski. A formal memorial service in Southern California will be announced, as well as family services in Michigan. The route will take us from Huntington Beach to Chicane Sport Tuning in Torrance, California -- the same route as the 2009 Chicane Cruise. For those who did not know Joe, he ran Chicane Sport Tuning in Torrance for the past 10 years. Before starting Chicane, he worked for Steve Saleen building high-performance Mustangs for nearly 10 years. Before that, he served our country in the U.S. armed forces. Many of us knew Joe as the person who either built our Saleen, developed or sold us parts for our Saleen, did way cool mods for our Mustang of any breed, as well as being a positive force in the hobby. But most important of all, to many of us, Joe was our friend. Joe leaves behind his longtime girlfriend, Rachel, and her daughter, Ramcel -- who Joe first introduced to me as his "best girl." In addition, Joe has family in Michigan and elsewhere in the U.S., and countless friends around the world in the Mustang community. Details about Sunday's Cruise as announced by Jared Chavez: Joe Gosinski Memorial Cruise Sunday, January 2, 2011 10:00 a.m. Sport Chalet Parking Lot 16242 Beach Boulevard (just south of Edinger and 405 Freeway - exit Beach Boulevard) Huntington Beach, CA 92647 All Friends, customers and fans are welcome. Please keep in mind the only objective is for this to be an outlet for close friends, customers and employees to roar up the coast to share memories and stories of a man who did so much for so many. Please show up early. We are trying to get started by 10:15 a.m. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=16242+Beach+Boulevard,+Huntington+Beach,+CA&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=53.035373,89.296875&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=16242+Beach+Blvd,+Huntington+Beach,+Orange,+California+92647&z=17 We hope you can make it.
