SCGT500 Co Pilot
Nice ride Mr. MM! My first comment when Bill was showing me the pics was..."Man, he needs chome nuts!!!!" Didn't you have those little extras sitting on the bench ready for installation? Don't forget that the Co-Pilot here will be glad to help you get your cars to future shows. mastersmech1
Great car... Now I guess I get the opportunity to compare both. Shelby GT Overall better stance and looks Hurst shifter far superior Strut tower brace looks better Hood scoop...sucks Floor mats better Dash & engine bay plaque...way cool Great color combo...White & silver Rear decklid lettering Great cornering and handling Wheres my HP? GT500 Mean and nasty Far superior hp and acceleration Six speed Better hood SVT influence and cues Nicer rims and tires Looser and sloppier shifter Plain floor mats sucked Noisy gears/ rear end These are two different automobiles. I find that at MSRP, the SGT is priced too close to the 500. I don't think anyone would be dissappointed in either one. I can't step out on a limb yet and say which one I like better. If you put the SGT body and stance on the GT500, that would be the clear winner. There's no doubt that the GT500 is superior from an acceleration and hp standpoint, but the SGT handles incredibly well. I am blessed to have both. KCMO-GT500
John thanks for the side by side comparison. the good thing about any of the issues discussed is that they can be addressed on both cars fairly easily if you wish. KCMO-GT500
Man - tough crowd. One little wall in 40 years.... ruf, I'll own up, back when I was 22, in a trans am with no weight at all at the rear, I loaded up the trunk with sand bags and went to downtown Rolla to mail a letter (during a snow and ice storm). Turned to leave the parking lot of the post office and found the parking lot was really just a sheet of ice. Also found out that by putting so much weight in the trunk, I had screwed up the ability of the fronts tire to really have much turning influence. Went straight into a retaining wall. Not much damage, but really freaked me out.
