Southern California Mod shop recommendations

OldSchool

Recommended Posts

Am looking to do some modifications to my 2010 Shelby and was looking for some advice on what shop in Southern California to go to in order to discuss options and come up with a game plan.

Here are the shops I know of in the area:

- 281 Motorsports in Anaheim

- GTR in Riverside

- Galpin Auto Sports in Van Nuys

- Chicane Motorsports in Torrance

- Racers Edge Tuning in Downey

- GRC Performance

Any direction would be much appreciated.

Thanks Rick and Chris!!!

OldSchool, I'm pretty much booked up until the bash, but I will be happy to discuss the direction you would like to go with your 2010. My prices are very fair and I know what works on these cars. Feel free to PM me.

- Racers Edge Tuning in Downey seems to be the place where most of the so cal guy's on SVTPerformance go and they frequently offer specials, hold events and have built a few 1,000 mod motors. I'm impressed with the gains their GT500 customers see. I was prepared to make the journey from Lake Tahoe but found a similar kick butt shop close to home to do my tuning but wouldn't mid seeing what they could do with my car.

Thank you for your comments my friends!!! Garden Grove is certainly not as far as Dubai, China, Russia, Canada, and all over the US where I have built Shelby's for....Right now we are doing one for NJ and another from Canada...

Appreciate all of the feedback and guidance. Downey is not that far but Palm Springs would be a little bit of a haul.

However, for the right shop I may have to do it.

Thanks for the help.

PS is not that far of a drive I visit at least once a year

do it right right the first time

I've taken my previous 07 Shelby GT to Chicane Motorsports in Torrance and Joe, the owner, did a great job on my mods. His shop is pretty cool and his a great person to deal with as well. Some people go there just to hang out. You also have to get used to Joe. When he is working on someones car, he can't be distracted. You have to wait for the right time to ask him something about prices and all that.

Downey is waaaaaay closer than Houston TX! Alex is the best :-)

Thanks Sherri and my other friends who have sent there cars from everywhere...

Joe was a great guy. He had so many great products and ideas. We had done several projects together over the years and I knew him from his days at Saleen. Over 15 years. Last time I saw him was SEMA this year. He will truly be missed.
