JeffJ
So in the past week there area few topics being brought up by people who only come on here once to post really dumb topics. There's the one about the sponsored whips site, now there is a poll by somebody asking if we like the Mustang, Camaro, or Challenger. Really? Why are the mods not deleting this crap? These contain links which may be harmful or not. I would think that these are against forum policies that should just go away.

I stayed miles away from the Camaro, Challenger post for that reason. Where's Rob???

Thor.
Wow, just because someone thinks a particular topic is "dumb" it should be deleted? If someone puts something toxic in the post, then yes, but just because somebody or somebodies think a topic is beneath them, I don't think that is cause for censorship. I replied to the poll and explained my choice for a Mustang and then the Shelby - it was not my first choice, but my first choice was not going to get manufactured (a Challenger convertible). I can't believe that all Ford, or Mustang, or Shelby owners are so closed minded as to entirely dismiss other car choices. I would be interested in what others considered good and not so good about the other cars. Man, I hope none of my future posts get judged as "dumb" - yikes!!! DubbsFaris
Hey Thor, THose posts were suspected of spam intention, not just dumb topics....if that were the case, I would loose half my post count. I sorta remember the poll question, and it seemed pretty irrelevant since it is being asked on a shelby site, you would think the answer would be clear- kind of like if you asked if you were in favor of socialism on a republican forum....but I agree, I dont believe it was malicious. That said, the whips thread is an obvious case of a single person using dual accounts to create buzz for a phony and fraudulant scam. I would bet the IPs of the two users involved are identical. If they are spam or toxic, then absolutely dump them and soon. However, I didn't recognize the poll as being spam, but I am certainly not the last word on recognizing such. Again, I restate, that it is not "black and white" for Ford / Mustang / Shelby for every member in this forum for any number of reasons, including those, like me, that bought one but had valid interest in other makes. Heck, we had threads from people who sold their Shelby to buy another brand - the discussion was interesting as explanations and counter-explanations took place. Diversity is the spice of life - everybody, including me, is entitled to an opinion, even if it is wrong!
JeffJ
Did you also notice that the poll was also posted by somebody who had never been on this site before? Comes in, posts this supposed "poll" with a link on it, not related to Shelby, then left. That seems pretty darn suspicious to me. Now if a Team Shelby member puts up a similar poll, then sure, no problem. But somebody who had never been on this site before? Pretty odd. Hey, if it's reviewed and fine, no problem, but why would somebody do that?

Hey, if it's reviewed and fine, no problem, but why would somebody do that? If you are correct, then I bow to your powers of observation - really, I certainly didn't catch it! If not, then give it a break. I hope you're wrong, but if not, thanks for being vigilant. I did not notice the link, so you may well be correct, but now I can't check it. Again, thanks if you are correct, we don't need spam filling up our forum. (However, there was a time, not long ago, that my first post was done by someone who had not been on this site before, but I didn't include a link to "somewhere".) I really would like Grabber to confirm or deny the spam allegation - if it is true, then I will give Jeff credit and apologize for being critical. My perspective comes from so many negative posts slamming a topic or going off a tangent, when, in my opinion, good, or at least interesting, information was being exchanged. I've had my informative posts get hijacked by someone who had an axe to grind with the vendor involved. I've seen other informative topics get hijacked by a person who didn't like the thing involved and turned the topic into a rant and rave. I find the multiple opinions about all subjects to be of value, at least to me.

This guy is like others that try to use our TS site to drum up business for personal needs. He posted a thread and then has a link in it to drum up his own business. The guy started the thread on 11/30/10 at 2:49 and has never been back. If you need the link to his spam site I can PM it to you or e-mail it to you, but I'm not going to re-post it. Frank S
Seems to me the "poll" post and its ilk are like passed gas* in polite company: no one mentions it and it fades away on its own, leaving no mark. Of course here in Shelby Country, it's guaranteed to stir up an animated discussion, because we don't have anything important to chew on. Right? * This is not meant to suggest some folks' olfactory sense is lacking...

The only problem I have with it is that it is very salty. There's a "reduced sodium" version, but it's still salty. Not bad fried and with mustard in a sandwich on sheepherder bread. Of course, us vegans don't eat (almost all) animal products, and any version of Spam is prototypical dead animal stuff.
