kbvaughn
I drive my Shelby on a regular basis. In parking lots I park as far away as possible, away from any other vehicles. Came out of the grocery store today to see a shopping cart resting against the driver's door. There is a dent the size of a half dollar on the door! Whomever is responsible had to intentionally shove that cart in my direction. I just don't get it, I would NEVER do that to anyone's car regardless of make, model, color, and whatever else you can think of. How can others be so callous. Stormracer
Back in my earlier Mustang years, when I had my 1967 GTA FB with 428SCJ(ya wish it was still in my garage lol) Well I had parked WAY OUT in the mall parking lot, at least 300-400 feet from anyone else. Well I came out to find this Cadillac parked about 1.5 INCHES from my drivers side of the car. Haha really funny. Sure he was not laughing when he came out later! :happy feet: Since it was so close, I did have my keys out to get into my car I might have scrapped up against it a little. PS 19 years old at the time, so what can I say!

I started a thread about this topic a while ago people are brave and jealous when people are not watching them. Did you see if the lot is covered by camera's. I had a couple of run in's with people but the one that got me the most was one cold snowy windy morning early like baby wanted food. The supermarket was empty a car here and there. I still parked about 15 spaces away from the store my wife ride is an 08 expedition there is no cars near me like 5 to 9 spaces in every direction. As, I was walking to my truck this old man is pulling up behind my truck. As heading towards my passenger side so, I walk up with my grocery and open the passenger side door and he is waiting patiently for me to close my door so he can park next to me. I took my sweet time to see if he would dare to honk or yell for me to hurry. He didn't so I decide to ask him why would you sit there wait for me to load my truck when you have a million space everywhere you want. He said if you parked with that truck here then you know it's a safe spot. That was the second time I got that answer. Also these guys on here know me good enough, I would be glad to go to jail for someone f in with anyones car. I would love to catch someone rolling a carriage towards a nice car. I promise it will be on the news. The law book can't fix that problem and that person should recieve a follow up after his car gets fixed. It hurts more the second time around !!!! But one of my happest day was retiring from NYPD the main sole reason is if you drive a nice car to work. It's bound to get keyed and dinged and its done by my fellow jealous co- workers. Cops are the worse to each other. If you come to work with a new car everyone finds out within an hour. and its damage by the end of the week. Good luck Good luck

Trust me thats why most NYC cops don't like FD is because of them being tight with each other. If you piss off a fellow cop be sure to find your locker in the shower. No balls, I have said this before. I have addressed cops during roll calls about being a man and if you have a problem face that person like a man. Plus the stealing of equipment from each other was insane. Sad Thats why the blue wall fell to pieces.

My blood pressure was at breaking point. That God security saw it and dealt with her. I know hitting a women is wrong but if she a savage and touches me. Lights out !!! glroy
I have seen carts speeding across lots many times due to lazy people not putting them in the cart racks or pushing them back into the store. It seems more likely your incident was not intentional. I have seen shopping carts scooting across the lot at like thirty miles an hour. Heading home from our first road trip we stopped in the middle of the Canadian parries province of Saskatchewan ( I believe it come from an Indian word that means; you can watch your dog run away for 2 days) for dinner. As we were geting close to the end of our meal the noticed the wind had picked up and shopping carts were starting to move slowly across the lot. The carts started to speed up and careen off of parked cars, I had parked the car in a pocket of cars that were acting like blockers for the carts. We quickly paid the bill and got away from the Killer Shopping Carts ( it was like they had just gone rabid). The other thing is some people just don't even comprehend what pride of ownership is. I asked a person on the ferry not to use my car as a hand rail and her response was "it's just a Mustang" even if it was just a Mustang it's my Mustang and keep your mit's off relax go to your happy place and if you ever see them stranded on the side of the road just drive by

kbvaughn
Update: Ford dealership has estimated damage at $1400! The dent is in the seam and therefore means the door will need to be fixed, repainted and re stripped, no PDR. Needless to say the store claims department now says my car cannot be seen in the parking lot--only driving out! This establishment has now lost my patronage and I grocery shop there at least once a week. My insurance company is calling this a comprehensive claim and will fix minus my deductible. So bottom line is you are the loser , you end up with dented door you have to pay " x" number dollars to have it fixed. I don`t believe it was a run away cart for one minute . So lesson learned "do not " take a nice car to any public mall , grocery store & leave unattended. Hope the repairs go well & you get her back as new. SWEDEMAN
If your car is repaired under insurance it will be reporeted to CARFAX. Now your car's title will be branded as "damaged/repaired". So now you'll also have a devalued car that a dealership cannot take in on trade and legally sell it to someone unless that person agress to buiy it with a branded title. Bottom line would you buy it knowing it had a damaged/repaired title on it? Ah.......no. Some say "oh I'll keep that car forever". But when the day comes to trade it in, it always does, you'll pay dearly for that little parking lot ding with a damaged title by CARFAX. It happened to me with my wife Mercedes, parking lot damage = bad title. I would ask your insurance company to total it and pay you to buy another one, really.
