You have to wonder what data shows that. Also, what data contradicts it. I've seen neither. You?

I am from the Show Me the Proof Camp..........

We have seen and read official and unofficial Wind Tunnel tests and

statements from SVT, SAI and others that do not prove the proformence

advantage with either the Original GT500 spoiler or the v-6 spoiler............

Sorry to affend those who believe everything they read and hear from SVT

or SAI but I am a firm believer that the spoilers in question are cosmetic for

looks and non functional for the most part..............

Until Proof shows otherwise of course................................. :hysterical:

Any 05-09 Mustang can look cool now just like the KR............

Come get your piece of the KR and make your budget v-6 Stang

stand out among the crowd...................

Wait a minute..........That was the same spoiler on the v-6s before the KRs were produced......

Robert, will the spoiler include a template for drilling holes in the deck lid?

Check the Roush site.

I'm pretty sure he has a template for his spoiler he uses on the 427R.

I know, I KNOW....it's a 3-piece spoiler with two winglets that mount to the body.

But according to his instruction sheet, his middle piece (trunk spoiler) fits the OEM spoiler holes in the trunk and if you don't have a OE spoiler, his template has the location for the holes.

I can't remember WHERE on his site they are but I know I've seen them and looked over them as I was thinking about adding a Roush spoiler to the back of my GT500 (until I saw I would have to drill holes in my quarters).

I'll see if I can find the URL, if you don't find it first.

EDIT:

http://store.roushperformance.com/images/manuals/420011_manual.pdf

That is for the 2010/11 rear spoiler and I'm not sure if the holes are the same for the earlier years. I'll look to see if I can find the earlier year template on his site

HTH,

Phill

Cant say for sure but it would make sense when SAI did the KR run .... that the bolt holes for the KR rear wing would fit in the stock location for the factory wing ......

That said I also know that all GT500's sent to SAI had no rear spoilers which leads me to my final question .. did the GT500's that became KR's have the factory holes in the trunk lid for the factory spoiler when sent to SAI for the conversion

wondering minds want to know ................... :headscratch:

Yes they did have holes. The bolt locations are the same between all rear deck spoilers.

They make a difference. Try running up the straights at Road America without one :hysterical:

Street wise, not so much

I called a local junk yard that we do a lot of biz with and asked if they had any '05 to '09 V6 mustangs.

He said they had 3. So I asked how much for the rear spoiler. 45.00 if you take it off, 65.00 if I take it off.

If you really want one of those spoilers, hit the junk yards first before spending 100.00. I am sure

you can get one for less than that.

So for $65 you get a road worn possibly 5 year old weathered spoiler? For a few $$ more you can have a new factory fresh one. I think I would take the factory fresh one. I'm all for saving money but think I'd be penny wise and pound foolish on such a nice car on such a visible addition going the junk yard route.

Here is mine.

+1, though there are some that have the skills to make the most of a used spoiler and can save a few coin with a little elbow grease and TLC.

I think its just common sense. I mean if you can find a V6 spoiler, in good condition for 45 or 50 bucks, scuff it up and

spray it for around 30 bucks, why would you pay 99 then have to pay for the spray and/or stripes? I can have my guys

go pick up the spoiler, prepare it and spray it, if needed, for less that 100.00. Why wouldn't I do that?

As far as "road worn weathered spoiler", just because the car wound up in a junk yard doesnt mean it wasnt taken

care of before it got there and I would hope that "common sense" would kick in and prevent someone from purchasing a bad spoiler!

Most of those cars are bought through sales like Sadisco for instance, from Ins co's that totaled them out for some

frame damage or whatever. Doesn't mean they were drove through a sand blaster its whole life.

Just my opinion

Once again, a stellar performance by SPP: a brand-new part in its factory protective wrapping, carefully packed, quickly delivered. After an hour of cleaning up after the old pedestal wing, the new one is attached in all its glory.

For reference: the middle picture is the old wing, the third is the low wing already on the other car. The ruler is in contact with the wings and flush with the faux cap and the rear edge of the trunk lid in both images.

That's fine but if the difference is $25, and it takes me more than 25 min total to do what your suggesting (including finding it), I'm loosing money. There's an opportunity cost for me such that it just doesn't make sense. FOR ME!
