notstock
Hey folks, i am a new member with a first post! I ordered the signed plaque and GT-500 doors sills yesterday. I see that the current sills have very little clearance around them to not damage the plastic around them. Any suggestions would be appreciated. My car is a 2008 White with Blue stripes. It had 982 miles on it when bought this past January. I have replaced most of the rear suspension components with Steeda, and also installed a CAI, supercharger pulley, adj. belt tensioner, and short throw shifter. These cars are everything that i had heard they are. I also have a (11.53 ET) 2002 Lightning for the car to chase!

Make sure the Putty knife is very flexible and bend (Curve) the tip of it just a little so it will slip under the Sill. You only need to bend about a 1/4 " of the tip of the Putty Knife. 2010KonaBlueGT
Hey folks, i am a new member with a first post! I ordered the signed plaque and GT-500 doors sills yesterday. I see that the current sills have very little clearance around them to not damage the plastic around them. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have a 2010 GT500 and I bought a set of the "Ford Racing" lighted door sill plates to replace the current/OE SVT sill plates. My original sill plates just popped right up/off, as per the instructions that came with the FRPP sill plates. I used a door panel remover tool (kind of a slightly 'forked' putty knife) to get under it and pry up on the first part of it but once I got ahold of it...it came right up and out of the clips that hold it into the door sill. There is a piece of double sided tape that runs along the inside edge of the plate but it all came up with the sill plate when I pulled it. 2010KonaBlueGT
Thanks for the advice guys. I still have my drivers side sill plate off the car so if you really needed 'em, I could take a couple of pics of the body sill area under the sill plate, and the underside of the SVT sill plate, and/or Ford Racing sill plate for that matter. Actually, there's not much to see so... I don't know that it would help you any because quite frankly, it's pretty cut/dried once you pull your first one off. It's really just a matter of getting an edge lifted and then pulling up on the sill plate. However, I did end up leaving two of the "clips" in the body holes when I pulled the plate. But the fix for that was just a matter of pulling them out of the holes (again, with my door panel tool) and sticking them onto the OE sill plate tabs that stick out. I'ts really no big deal at all. Actually, it was a whole lot easier than I first imagined. I talked myself into thinking it was going to be a bitch until I saw Roger Sorel's "instructions" for putting a dead pedal in a GT500, which includes pulling the door sill plate. Oh, and speaking of which...you can see how to pull the sill plate by going to the SPP site and finding the GT500 deal pedal. Click on "Instrucions" and it links you to a TS forum thread that Roger posted, including photo's. And one of the steps, as I said, is pulling the dr. side sill plate! There ya go, easy peasy! I'd pull up the link for ya but I really gotta run, HTH, Phill
