stock clutch question---how much is too much?

I'm running that hp and have 20 passes with very stciky tires. The clutch is awesome, has not even hinted a slip. If I could get under the car I would give it a hug after every track night.

very good...........what kind of 'stickies' do you run? I plan on using MT slicks. On the street, I'll use drag radials. In fact, what's the largest DR I can run on the stock (non-PP) wheels?

That's good news. My first stock clutch couldn't handle12 passes on street tires. Granted they were all on the same day but still.

I've seen several 2010/11 GT500's (some even with drag radials or slicks) make 10+ passes in a day and not have clutch failure (and a few were modded-pullied, headers etc). Improper launch technique (ei-slow release, riding the clutch out of the hole etc) can cause any clutch to fail fairly fast.

Running 315x40x18 Nitto NT05R on CCW 18x11 wheels. Consult with the tire manufacturer for recomended rim size.

I have seen some running as big as a 315 dr on the stock rim some report rubbing and some don't. I would make sure to get an adjustable panhard bar so that you can center the rear end just to make sure. Hope that helps. Good luck on the clutch, like someone else on here said it is all about driver skill some have it and some don't. Once you get the launch down your clutches should last.

Agreed, but sometimes you just get a bad one like I did. I'll be interested to see how my new one holds up. Needless to say I won't be going to the track anymore. Too much of a risk.

Well I read one of your old racing posts on how you rode the clutch out as to not spin the tires as much, so.........just sayin'.

Just remember, as the back end squats, it will center up. If you put an adjustable on it and center without preloading, the car will squat and rub just opposite from what yolu are thinking.
