QuickSilverShelby
So I've been at SEMA this week, drinkin a whole bunch and havin ALOT of fun when my friend, Steve and I decided to head out to the Shelby factory on Thursday morning. This must be at least the 6th or 7th time I have been there in the last couple of years but today was a little more fun. 1st - when we pulled up, there was a huge display of Cobras, two Daytona's and the new GT350 out front on display. I was able to have an up close look at the GT350 and got to hear her running. I wasn't a huge fan of this car when I saw the pictures, but as a few have mentioned before, after seeing it in person and hearing it...........well, I am now a convert. That girl is nasty sounding and a looker indeed, YUM. So I am now a GT350 fan. 2nd - After that we went inside to take the tour and there were a ton of people due to the SEMA sow so we had to split into two groups to all go on the tour ( I have never seen anywhere near this many people at the tour). Steve and I were on the first group of tour folks and we were in the back of the museum, where they build all the new cars, but we were off to the side of the tour (because I had seen and heard all of it before). I was just takin a look at what was being built in the back and how many GT350's were being worked on. I counted 13 cars that were on the hoists at varying stages of completion. There were also a few SuperSnakes and a couple other cars being worked on. So, while the tour guide is talking about how all the cars are assembled I notice to my left some "suites" all gathering around a car for a photo opportunity. I actually leaned over and said to Steve in a somewhat sarcastic tone " I wonder who all these big wigs are?". ( I did recognize Gary Paterson and John Luft,) but didn't quit figure out who everyone else was. As I mumbles this too Steve, I kinda looked a little closer at the "big wigs" and one of them happened to lean over a car to start writing on it. It was then I realized (as my jaw hit the floor) it was the "big wig" Carroll Shelby who happened to be leaning over a car to sign it. Well I made a B line over to the car and snapped off a couple of pictures. (Yeah I know, "no pictures in the assembly area" but I couldn't resist this) We were way off to the side and there were only about five of us taking in the moment while the other 70 or so people were quietly enthralled with the tour guide and the info he shared about the "Shelby" cars that were currently being assembled. It was so funny that there was Carroll Shelby, live and in person, all the while the majority of people on the tour were totally oblivious to the fact that he was only a few feet away. The five of us who saw all of this were laughing at the fact the the majority of folks had no idea that the icon, who this tour centered around, just happened to be right there. Too cool. So, here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy QSS P.S. I saw the Boss and the Boss Laguna Seca at SEMA as well and they are really nice but ........... well.............. I'd rather have a SHELBY. YEAH BABY, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

shelbymotorsports
That's Gary Davis in the pics, Gary Patterson was over at SEMA. And another one of those "suits" just happened to be Edsel Ford, although it doesn't look like you got a pic of him. Enthusiasts sure did get a treat on Thursday mornings tour. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour and your GT350 comments are what we hear the most. All I can say is if you get a chance to drive a GT350 don't pass it up. Destry
Nice thanks for sharing. My SS should be there somewhere. It's supposed to be completed by wednesday next week. It would be the 2010 Brilliant Silver with California Plates. It may have been in a different building though. Gary

Steve Way too funny, I didn't even realize that one of the group was Edsel. I wall all enamored with the "Carroll" show. I knew one of the guys were a "Gary". I begged him to get a picture with Carroll but he just smiled and told me "you might get lucky but no promises". No luck though. I'LL COME BACK TODAY FOR A PICTURE.......PRETTY PLEASE!!!!!! Do ya think if I went back to the plant they would let me test drive a GT350? I might wanna add one to my garage :D QSS
