thewheelman
1) The new Shelby Annual magazine hit the newstands at WallyWorld Friday. I picked up two. Love the historic photos section and the article on Edsel & Carroll. 2) As the temps drop here in KY, we're finally getting some fall weather. I took the GT 500 to work the other morning, about 40 degrees. Tires losing grip reminds me of what a tremendous power band this car has. Heading up the ramp at 45+ I rolled into the throttle and the tires broke loose somewhere between 3500 and 4000 rpm. I was amazed (and surprised) I thought speed would have overcome the lack of grip at that point...... 3) People are still amazed by these cars. It's been over 2 years now that I've owned this car and drive it almost every day, yet it still attracts people like a celebrity. Last Saturday I had the top down when I went through the drive-thru at the local donut shop. The girl leaned way out the window and looked it over and said, "Is that a Shelby?" I said, "Sure is!" She grabbed the guy behind the counter and said, "Look here, a Shelby Cobra." He looked out and said, "Nuh uh" She said "Uh huh! You can see the man's signature on the dash." To which he replied, "Sweet!" I was surprised that she recognized the car as something other than just another Mustang, but to notice and recognize the sig on the dash plaque......well, I'll be going back there again for my donuts! Beautiful (if dry) fall weather here in Western KY. Wife and I took a long cruise Saturday afternoon taking in the fall foliage and smoking tobacco barns.....never a dull moment in a Shelby! Have Fun!

BIKEBOY
Thanks Hal, for the segway into my thoughts exactly.................................... I've posted this very thing before, actually. You are so correct sir. People still 3 and a 1/2 years later for me, googoo eye over my car! It seems that all of the smack talk on our forum, about GT500's being just 'too common' is apparently, well, crap! Most people don't know what the car is first of all, then alot don't even know who Carroll is? It's an awesome feeling to be driving something almost four years after it's inception, and loud introduction, that still commands respect and curb appeal!!! I've not owned any other car, (and I've had close to 100 now), that after it's original introduction of model some four years later still gets hearts pumping and eyes gazing. Not to mention hasn't really lost a traditional percentage of it's resale value! How'd-a-they say?????? "It's All Good!" :happy feet:
