It is completely street legal : ) check out the website.

its a rolling chassis, the engine they dropped in was all aluminum 700 horse power engine.

"We just got the 403 ci engine in the car this month and we spent over 2 weeks at shows in Northern Ca so time has been tight. Track testing hasn’t been performed yet.

All of the suspension and chassis components have been proven out over the last few years on our race cars though and they have brought home consistent wins….The same components have been translated over to the Harbinger. It’s our track car with a different shell really.

Here’s a simple way to give you an idea of what the light weight nature of our chassis can do compared to other ultra high performance vehicles.

Let’s have a fun look at power to weight ratio-

Stock 08 GT 500 makes 430 HP at the wheels and weighs almost 3900 lbs (minus driver) = 9.3 lbs per HP. With 200 lb driver it would be 9.53 lbs per HP.

A Yamaha R6 super sport motorcycle weighs 417 lbs (minus rider) and has 108 HP = 3.86 lbs per HP. With a 200 lb rider it would be 5.7 lbs per HP.

Bugatti Veyron is 4,480 lbs and has been dyno’d at 922 HP at the wheels= 4.85 lbs per HP. With 200 lb driver it would be 5.0 lbs per HP.

The Harbinger Prototype weighs 2980 lbs and our engine that we chose makes 600 at the wheels = 4.9 lbs per HP. With 200 lb driver it would be 5.3 lbs per HP.

All of these numbers are real world numbers. So in all honesty, you could estimate the performance of our Harbinger somewhere between a Bugatti Veyron and a 600 cc Super Sport bike.

The handling of our car will be far beyond most other options as well (regardless of price) due to our double A arm suspension design and the lack of weight.

With the handling capabilities or our suspension and chassis design, you will easily outrun the Yamaha R6 on the track unless the rider is a super pro and can squeeze every bit of performance out of it and doesn’t care if he lays the bike down and crashes.

I’ve recently driven the prototype on highways and side roads and the thing that impresses me most is that the geometry of our suspension and lack of weight makes it possible to run a softer spring set so the ride is actually quite nice while still being super sticky in the turns. It doesn’t beat on you or the chassis like a normal car with a high performance suspension where the springs are stiffened up to control body roll."

Just want to follow up on this.

There are a few ways to do a street legal version of our rolling chassis or Harbinger packages.

1. Start with an original 69 or 70 body.

2. Use one of our modified Dynacorn bodies and get SP100 or "special construction" vehicle registration in Ca. (other states are probably much easier to get the registration instead of Ca). This is exactly what all of the Cobra replica guys do to get their plates and reg. and we see them out at shows and on the street all the time here in So Cal. so it's totally doable.

All I know is that there are only a couple of dream cars I would love to own if I ever win the lottery, and I am adding this to the list. You guys have a awsome car. Those nombers are very interesting. Best of all, its a Mustang. I have a couple of questions. How did you come up with the name and if Dynocorn ever made a 65 Mustang shell, would you make a car for that year?

The definition of Harbinger is -anything that foreshadows a future event; omen; sign: Frost is a harbinger of winter.

Basically, that can be interpreted to mean that we are changing the way things are done with the use of rapid manufacturing and ultra lightweight materials in this build and we foresee many future vehicles following suit.

We are looking forward to going backward...We will be working on suspension and components for the earlier cars next year.

Not sure if Dynacorn will make the earlier shells but I imagine they would as they are working on lots of other bodies and seem to be doing well with those products. Fortunately for us, they did the 69/70 because that particular body just nails it in the looks department...

If I read it right, this ^^^ means the one we are looking at is not street legal?

More anthropormorphzation doesn't make it any more legal.

I would really like to be skilled and solvent enough to make one - street legal or not. It really does ring a bell, sort of a definition of Muscle-stangness. I'm looking forward to a time when the roads and the tracks are populated with them, an outcome devoutly to be wished for.

EDIT - PS: The only Harbinger I had run across before was the Red Red Robin, traditional Harbinger of Spring.

We did SP100 on the one in the video and I just picked up the plates on Friday.

For a 69, there is no smog so as long as all the lights and safety equipment is in check you are good to go.

Bryan,

Awsome car. Looks like a blast! Welcome to Team Shelby. My Hertz has history with you guys. My car was the one you rented back in 2006 in San Diego to design your brake scoops for the Shelby. When I bought it, I found the Agent 47 ball sticker in my passenger door, and the winged sticker behind my air filter under the hood. Sure enough, if you pop the plastic grills out of my front bumper cover, it has the holes there that you guys cut out to fit in your brake ducts. So the Hertz Shelby that is on your web site is my actual car. Some pretty cool rental history on my car. Again, welcome to Team Shelby!
