crazydave
I saw pictures of our 07 Shelbys when they were sitting in the parking lots in Vegas. When they arrived from FORD, they had the default GT grill with fog lamps. My questions are: What did Shelby do with all our original grills? (we paid for them, why didn't we get them) What happened to the original suspension parts, since most got replaced with Ford Racing components? Other parts were replaced too, where the heck did they go? With over 10,000 Shelby GTs converted, there must be a big pile of our parts somewhere. I want mine! I would like the spoiler I paid for too! That was deleted at the factory.

JeffIsHereToo
You didn't pay for any of these items any more than you get the Shaker 500 that was included in the car when instead you upgrade to a Shaker 1000 or Nav. I didn't see a Shaker 500 in a box in the trunk! Anyway, the grill, if you look, is STILL there and any other parts were long sold off to be placed on the open market at places like NewTakeOff etc. It's all pretty standard! If you really want these parts they're pretty cheap! http://www.newtakeoff.com/

I didn't see a Shaker 500 in a box in the trunk! My sticker said "2007 Mustang GT" and the price. So, I paid for a Mustang GT and everything that came standard on the GT. Which included the grille and lamps. Also the spoiler. If my Mustang landed at Las Vegas with a Shaker 500, and Shelby added the 1000 as part of the Sheby upgrades, I would have paid for that too. I don't see any original grille behind the billet? Maybe they forgot to take yours off?

If you look closely, it's behind it. What's left of it.

You will have to paint it as it is Legend Lime. The sales agreement for my GT350 states Shelby owns the take-off parts.
twobjshelbys
SGTs were built with a "Upfitters Package". That should have been listed on your Ford window sticker. It included, among other things, spoiler delete. The factory grill on the '07's was covered up by the Shelby process but ought to still be there. The '08s were delivered from Ford with the SGT grill. The SGT was built by and for Ford (it was a pre-title conversion - the first owner bought it from a Ford dealer completed and ready to go) so whatever take off parts were involved were handled according to the Ford/Shelby contract. I believe Bud told me they were dispatched through the third party guys like "newtakeoff.com" (used as an example).
07-2937
wow the name fits crazy dave lol you got what you paid for. The cars shipped to SAI were actually not sale able until they received their Shelby upfit. and the takeoff parts went to greenleaf!
crazydave
I found what was left of the plastic grill, but I would still like to have the fog lights and everything else I paid for. Only Forest Gump would'nt care. I could have sold the leftovers on eBay, it should have been my option. There was no credit for spoiler on my sticker. ilmor
OK, heres the bottom line. If Shelby hadn't sold off the parts you think you "bought", the price of the car would have been higher to compensate. Therefore, you did not pay for the parts. Go have a brewski, look at your Shelby GT and love it! :happy feet:

SWEDEMAN
I don't think your going to get any sympathy here, just love the Shelby or leave it but def don't cry about not having standard MGT parts. I think you should talk to your dealer if your not satisfied. Hope that helps.

springer
Actually, you bought a Mustang Shelby GT once it was converted for Ford by Shelby. This is identified on your window sticker as the GT upfitters package which is Ford's code to identify a Shelby GT. To convert the car to the GT upfitter package, certain parts on the car were removed and/or replaced by Shelby. Part of Shelby's agreement in converting the cars for Ford was that the take-off parts belonged to Shelby. Shelby disposed of the parts - you never owned the parts to start with. You purchased a Shelby GT package which necessitated the removal and/or installation of several parts on the GT to make the car what it is today. The Shelby Super Snakes, GT/SC's, GT 350's are converted post-title therefore you must purchase the car before it is converted - therefore you own all the take-off parts when the conversion is completed. You could not order a Shelby Super Snake or GT 350 and have it built by or converted to a Shelby by Ford. Conversely, you could not purchase a Mustang GT from your local Ford dealer and have it converted to a Shelby GT after the fact. The Shelby GT had to be ordered from Ford with the upfitter option, where they contracted Shelby to convert the car to the Shelby GT.

crazydave
This was not a joke, but I wasn't serious about ever getting my original parts from Shelby. This was mostly a post to see if anybody thought about the subject. My car just got repaired from a minor crash. The body shop said I could have my fender, wheel, and tire if I wanted. They said, you paid for it, the stuff is yours. The wheel and fender are going to be souvenirs for my game room. The fog lamps and spoiler would have been nice too. I didn't want exhaust parts or suspension pieces. They don't display well. I saw my ride yesterday, it's all put back together now. Just waiting for the Shelby GT stripe to be replaced. Think of it this way, you got a discount when you purchased your Shelby GT because they did not charge you full price for the upgrades. You never bought or owned the original parts as has been explained by Springer in this post. Either way, enjoy your car and buy the parts from New Take Off if you really want them.
