Shelby GT/SC on Ebay

I didn't see the GT/SC Shelby conversion plate. There are many errors in the listing. It read that there were over 700 of these GT/SC convertibles produced. In fact there have been 6 or 7 of the Shelby GT/SC 2008 convertible cars produced.

The under-hood S/C conversion plate was not included until very recently. I got mine installed on a return visit to SA when Bud was gracious enough to get me the plate and have it installed. If the owner doesn't follow this forum he/she wouldn't even know it existed...

I suspect there are more than 6 or 7. I know I own(ed) two of them.

NO Hids

The top appears to be vinyl which most of the cars came with the cloth top

It has a open air filter where mine is a closed box. This is rather strange since all 08's that were supercharged had to come with the closed box.

I would guess the cars reserve is $between $40 and $45 K

I can't imagine it selling for any more than a stock sgt's book value plus 15k or less... unless someone spending that money doesn't understand that they can just buy a sgt and have the conversion done still. The $2,411 for gauges kinda makes me laugh...

I think the only gt/sc's that could bring more are the few paxton cars that got out since you can't just go have that conversion done now.

We will see, it'll be interesting to watch since there havent' been many gt/sc cars listed.

According to the auction, this car was converted by a Ford dealer authorized by Shelby. That would have to be Tasca Ford then - correct. Maybe one of the registrars can see if this car is in the Shelby registry. As far as GT/SC convertibles go, there were very few made- whether it is 7 or 8, or 11 or 12. When I was in Vegas a couple weeks ago, there had been only four or five converted there. Add in the few that were converted elsewhere doesn't make for many GT/SC convertibles out there.

To the unschooled, unsuspecting buyer they would think it was a Shelby authorized shop! How many unscrupulous dealers have pushed clones or even Mustangs with a Shelby "upfitters" package as the real thing!

This car is not in the registry. As many of you have already posted his claim of 972 is way off base. First off there were only 778 Vista Blue SGT Convertibles built, that right there discredits his claim. Secondly while I don't have any hard S/C figures I can say the number is way under 200. Way, way, under.

Looks to be a nice car and appears to have come from an auction. Other than that all we can do is wish the seller luck on getting his asking price.

When I was at SA a few weeks ago, I was discussing total 2007- 2008 SGT/SC conversions with a "the person in the know" there and he speculated that it is way under a hundred. The 2008 GT/SC convertibles converted at SA in Las Vegas was 4 or 5 cars, and a few more by the mods shops, but that figure wasn't available at the time. I would think that there would be accurate records somewhere on how many cars have received the SC package.

For all of us with inquiring minds, it would sure be nice to get a count on the SC conversions.

I must also agree with NordicShelby on no HID's and a black shift knob. I thought all 2008 came with HID's please correct me if I am wrong and my 2008 S/C has an enclosed air box. The air box and shifter can be changed by the owner but I don't think the headlights.
