skeet
Hello all, since winter is on its way, I was wondering what battery tender you all recommend and why? I use the Battery Tender Junior, this will be the 3rd winter that I had it. I store the car from about the second week in November to the first or second week of March. It was $30.99 from JC Whitney. When I take the car out of storage I put it on my garden tractor battery for a few days and it brings it back up to full charge
Ezkill
The battery tender brand are all good from what I hear. I use the CTEK( http://www.ctek.com/EN-US/home/Default.aspx ). Very similair to the battery tender I just liked the look of it better. It's done a fine job. Same kind of deal, computer controlled, float charger etc etc. I think of the 3-4 major types you would be very hard pressed to find a significant difference. Rag Top Day
Had my Battery Tender for a couple of years and would not be without it! Really saves your battery!
cobra2564
I bought a 2003 Dyna Wide Glide Harley, new in 2003. I used a "Battery Tender" brand on it since new, year-round. I replaced the battery in the bike this Summer; not because it was bad, I was just scared! That is a lot of years on a motorcyclle battery. Actually, I ride with a buddy that replaces his batteries about every 3 years and I knew if mine ever crapped out he would really be on my case. After that, I use them on everthing that sits in my shed. New 2010 GT500 and 67 GT500. They are worth the chips!

xjrguy
I use three of the Battery tender plus models. Most if not all of the batteries I used in our four vehicles are AGM and I like that the Plus has no problem charging these. The only one not AGM is the Mustang. Thor.
I just purchased the Sears brand float charger - it is still in the box right now, but I have had reasonable success with Craftsman products over the years. This one cost $30 and has the powerpoint (lighter) cable also which I plan on using. My beloved Shelby will be going into hibernation within the next few weeks, with the float charger and a back ordered bubble all under the roof of my pole barn. The only thing I am concerned about is mice and I am counting on the bubble to deter them. (Should I invest in a pole barn cat?)
