spacecoastshelby
Which supercharger out there makes the least amount of noise? Is ther one that you cannot tell it is under the hood when it drives by or idling at a light?
jmn444
Can't hear my whipple unless I'm getting on it, but then it's a kick ass sound! not sure how it sounds outside of the car yet though!

Thats what I am looking for...something quiet, until it is time to be heard!! Whipple gets one vote...any one else have suggestions? Or ones that are definately loud and to stay away from? jmn444
To follow up, pretty sure the whipple is the loudest of all of them, so I would guess that most modern power adders are quiet till you get into the boost....
kahmann
^Any centrifugal blower is noisy pretty much all the time. The helical gears sound like a box of rocks churning under the hood at idle sometimes. So if you're looking for a stealthy supercharger, steer clear of a Paxton, Vortech, or ProCharger. Good luck. EL SHELBY
I read an article a couple years ago now about ProCharger developing an ultra quiet hair dryer. I have no idea if it actually made it to market.
ilmor
You might also try YouTube - you can watch / listen to vids of supercharged Mustangs when the guys get on the gas. Pretty cool!
2007_Shelby_GT
My Edelbrock E-Force is almost to quiet! I can't hear it at all at idle, and just barely audible at WOT - of course I don't have mufflers, just SLP Loudmouth pipes, so that might have something to do with it! slbgtsc
The Saleen system is fairly quiet with the hood down. I would go to Brenspeed and watch their videos as they have videos of paxton/vortech/salee/edelbrock and turbo systems.
jmn444
I have muffler deletes too, and inside the car I almost think the blower is louder at WOT!

Sam +1 The Edelbrock is very quiet, you'd never know there was a supercharger under the hood... until they pull away from you.
07-2937
I fixed the dyno run video or use this one you could hear how quiet the Whipple is until you get on it. listen to the dyno run that's with the hood open!!! I drove for a long time before changing my stripes too the GT/SC ones It didnt matter with or without them people still wanted to race @ almost every light. Now they know they cant hear it but they can read the stripe and they still wanna run!
