Thanks for the pics Lucas.

The new 5.0's are a nice car, but like you I'm positive I would miss the power of the Shelby. I've been looking at getting a Boss 302, but from the info released so far I just don't think it's going to have the power of the Shelby. It will be awesome on the track but on the street it won't be like a 2011 GT500.

I'm very, very close to pulling the trigger on a 2011 GT500, black, SVTPP, Nav, and glass roof. It has the stripe delete and I'm think of adding the grabber blue stripes.

That's absolutely correct. It does NOT have the power that the GT500 did. And I do miss that. In the eight months I owned the car I only put 3900 miles on it. While that may seem like a lot to some here, it's miniscule for me. I've had my 5.0 for about three months and it's about to roll 5000 miles. I just enjoy driving it more and don't cringe at each tick of the odometer.

While I did take the GT500 to the dragstrip once, I was even worried about that. It was just too much money wrapped up in a car for my personality and didn't fit me well. I'm glad I owned one, because I had wanted one for a long time and knew I would go through life wishing I had. Now I've had one, I realize I don't need one nor want one anymore.

I will tell anyone today that it was the most amazing machine I've ever driven, but it's just not my bag. When I can get the Whipple charger on the 5.0, I'll be more than happy with tire frying power.

That was the best post I've read in a long time. I felt the same way about my 2008 GT500. Unfortunately it took the fun out of owning it. Although I plan on purchasing a 2012 GT500, I think my attitude will be different this time around. I plan on having fun with the car and using it as a daily driver.
