Its that time of year where the sun is low and i see every streak in my glass.I use Windex inside and out,and carefully clean and still see the streaks. The inside streaks are a bear--i think that the dash emits the plasticizers and coat the inside of the glass. So question is, what do you use to clean and how, and secondly is there a dressing for he dash that doesnt emit--thanks

I use Eagle 1 window cleaner and the As Seen on TV Windshield Wonder, which cost $9.95. I got mine at CVS and ACE hardware.

For the inside I spray the microfiber cover with the window cleaner, for the outside I spritz the windows and spay the micorfiber cover.

WIth the long handle you can get the inside of the rear window with no problem. It works great for me, no more streaks. I bought two of them, one for the Mustang and one for our daily drivers.

When the microfiber covers get dirty I have my wife throw them in the wash, they come out good as new.

If you have tint applied to the window glass, then don't use regular Windex on the tint. The Ammonia will do something bad to the tint film. I use the Ammonia Free Windex for this reason ... it works pretty good, I still have use some elbow grease to eliminate the streaks.

As for the interior, I just use a damp rag.

They come with two microfiber bonnets. The head pivots so you can get the tight areas where the windshield meets the dash and the back window meets the rear deck.

Use a good quality microfiber cloth to dry the windows.

Another tip, when you put the MF cloth's in the wash and get to the rinse cycle put a cup of vinegar in the rinse water to remove all the soap from the towels. They will be more absorbent and clean better.

I have at least 8 different brands of glass cleaners in my garage. I think I've used just about everything out there. I have settled on Perfect Glass window cleaner and a fine micro fiber towel, I get it at Bed Bath.

When the front windshield gets really bad I use 000 steel wool and glass cleaner. I also use the Groits garage window clay. My glass comes out perfect every time.

thank you thank you--just used Windshield wonder and it did an incredible job, including saving me a back sprain for the rear window.Guess its a great combination of good mechanical engineering to increse the force on the window, and use of a micrfiber bonnet--should have invented it myself--and just uses plain water--bob

As any professional window washer will tell you, it doesn't matter what cleaner you use for washing windows, it's the polisher you use that counts. (Except if using a squeegy, then the cleaner is important). MF cloth is probably the best out there now. Paper towell is horrible because it's made from recycled who knows what and will leave more film than removed. Before MF, I used black & white newspapers and it worked well. It's the "dry polishing" that makes your windows streak free regardless of what cleaner you used.

Thanks for the info Skeet! I picked up one of those as seen on TV windshield wonders at Target today and it did an awesome job. Usually I clean the inside in the garage and when I back out it looks worse than when I started! This tool with a litttle water did wonders!

Invisible glass aerosol, a good microfiber towel, and cleaning tool. Works everytime and produces streak free results. Usually the film on the front glass is from silcone based vinyl dressings that heat up and rise causing the film. If you are a smoker its even worse. Hope this helps.
