Shelby Alcoa Center cap options

Recommended Posts

I recently bought these wheels and the only problem I have is the center cap options given. I don't like the one that Shelby sells because it seems a little clunky to me and I also don't like the logo. They are too expensive for something I don't like. Alcoa was no help. I tried doing a search but I came up empty. What other center caps have other members put on? I know the diameter of the hole is 2.5 inches. Does that mean I can put on any cap that measures 2.5? Here are pics of what they did on Knight Rider:

I don't know if it was a straight fit or they did some modding to it.

Here is another pic. I don't know what cap this is:

Can someone please help me find another cap?

I took a set of the 2010 GT500 wheels with the standard SVT caps and replaced them with the FR caps from the 2004 wheel. There are 2.5".Give Tousley Ford (1-800-328-9552 ask for Steve or Kevin) a call, they sell all parts for 10% over cost and will look at the cap specs. I bought my FR caps from them and the looked at each wheel cap spec for me before I placed my order.

It looks like the SVT cap fits. Late model restoration has that cap for like $28.00. If a standard 2.5 cap fits I could order the american muscle ones and get a decal made. I was hoping someone here tried other options. That Shelby one I just don't like.

They do not fit.

The KR car used a knife and a glue gun basically. :fool:

Folks, no need to worry... When your wheels arrive, you'll be contacted... just tell the salesperson what caps you want. I've made more different Alcoa-compatible caps available than any time ever in HISTORY. We have GT500KR (for KR owners only), Tiffany snakes, the cartoon snake with the red "Shelby" lettering, the "CS" logo, etc etc etc...

What about those CS caps that had the lettering in blue and the background silver?

Nope. Not our product.

oh?

Who made them then?

I don't know.

The Carrol Shelby Wheel Company?

A "vintage" eBay purchase?

Some fool with sticky paper and an inkjet printer?

Gypsies?

Keebler elves?

Ya got me. It's a mystery.

I will. Getting an answer for these Alcoa has not been easy. Alcoa was no help and niether was Shelby but I bet that's because they they want to sell the ones they have.

Who did you ask at "Shelby"?

Email me directly at: JerG@ShelbyAmerican.com or call me at 702-405-3500. I'll give you a list of options.

I doubt he is looking for caps still since that post was over 2 years ago but maybe! lol

Well, the thread was revived, so it's worth addressing, but yes, I guess the OP is probably OK at this point!

I don't have pix of them all yet. Up to this point, it's just been something I do on an as-needed basis for a few customer special requests. I'll get something official online soon. The only one NOT currently photographed is the "Tiffany" Snake one.

Was there a particular one you wanted?

That's the cap for an 18" wheel...

The 20" caps have the center emblem sitting in a "carrier" and look like THIS (see attached pic'):
