dingo2008
Which cold air intake and pulley do you have, how much did your car have stock RWHP and how much after pulley CAI and tune? I'm thinking Steeda carbon fiber CAI and VMP 2.59" stock looking pulley
Nitemare
I have an 08 GT500 triple black, stripes delete vert. I bought a FRPP CAI and SCT tuner from VMP tuning. I also put on FRPP, KR axle back mufflers (sounds great). On Oct. 7th 2010, I went to VMP in Deltona, FL. and had Justine install a new, two fan HE from Roush, a 66mm TB and a 2.59 pulley. Stock HP was about 430. He put it on the Dyno to tune it and the results were amazing to me. Max power = 561.64HP and Max Torque = 558.38 at the rear wheels. Get on VMPtuning.com and check out the Dynotune archives on the right side menu. Warning, the stock tires are useless in first and second gear!!! I'm now shopping around for a set of Nitto NT05Rs so I can put the power to use! :burnout:
Spring Lil Cobra
I have the Steeda CF CAI. Here is a photo of it installed. Here also is the Steeda 2.6 pulley installed: Both are nice pieces. The intake gets alot of attention. The pulley looks aftermarket and is the first thing a dealer will frown upon if you take it in for warranty repair. Good luck with your decision. dingo2008
what hp numbers did you get with the steeda cf cai and the steeda pulley, kinda want to do the steeda cf cai and the vmp pulley so the pulley looks stock, i'm sure the jlt is just as good or maybe better than steeda one, not really sure the jlt is what 110mm and the steeda one is 114mm guess it just matters which is a better design. Yea, I've been looking at the Steeda CAI as well. Big carbon fiber tube looks great and on their web site Steeda claims pretty good horsepower gains with the flash tune and pulley. Anyone else have the Steeda setup that can comment ? IS
428cj
Which cold air intake and pulley do you have, how much did your car have stock RWHP and how much after pulley CAI and tune? I'm thinking Steeda carbon fiber CAI and VMP 2.59" stock looking pulley I have had a jlt then a ford racing and a C/L cai I like the C/L better than all the others that I have used I have had lund tunes and vmp tunes I like justins tunes better than the others also tried evo tunes at first justin gives you great tunes and great service I do alot of mods on gt500's and justin at vmp has quality products and they perform like he says they will his 2.59 top pulley is a 1 piece pulley and looks like the stock pulley I don't like the 2 piece pulleys. 428cj
dingo2008
Thanks, why do you like the c&l better and what headers and x pipe are you guys running, I was thinking either JBA or kooks headers, kinda thinking of running a highflow catted x pipe. I could run a off road in my state but kinda like to stay a little quieter this time. I have a 408 stroker in my 94 mustang with 3" exhaust and offroad x pipe sounds amazing but if your just out on a cruise or talking it makes it more annoying. But could be becuase i have 373 gears and a 5 speed tranny. Oh any one running 355 gear in their shelby and what rpm are you at about 70mph thanks
ksteinbach
VMP has tested every CAI there is and I don't think they found a significant difference from one to another once properly tuned.
Ray Lucca
Looking at buying a left-over New 09, and having the dealer install the FRPP Tune and Cai, to keep the warranty intact, for awhile at least . From what I've read, a stock GT500 will be about 430-445 Rwhp on a Dynojet, is that about right??? Adding the Tune and Cai should put it at about 475-485 Rwhp?? I probably won't pulley it for awhile, maybe get a SCT Dyno Tune later.. I was going to Sub. the KR Axle-back for the SVT-1's but the dealer tells me it will affect the warranty. IE instead of buying the full kit [M-2007-FR1 Svt] with Cai, Tuner, SVT-1 Mufflers and Oil Filter..... Install the [M-9603-SVT 07] Cai and Tuner Kit only, and buy and install the KR Muffler Kit [M-5230-S] at time of delivery. Dealer says no go, what am I missing here??? ZXMustang
Bone stock was 442rwhp on mine. K&N CAI, 2.6 pulley, muffler deletes and tune I pulled 535rwhp and 520rwtq with 93 octane and on a dynojet. Im going with my friends new eaton nose drive that supports his 2.2 pulley and a posi port. That should be an easy 600rwhp/600rwtq.

Joe G
Haven't heard anything back from you since our emails a few days ago, dingo. Let me know if I can help with anything. I'm happy to help install too - as long as it's not too difficult (like gears) and you have plenty of beer ready.

Justin00Stang
I've got plenty of one piece VMP stock-look 2.59 pulleys in stock, a long with the tool kit to remove the stock one with no damage and install mine. http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index.php?p=product&id=339&parent=104 We looked at making a two piece pulley, but you sacrifice a ton of strength. Later this month we'll be releasing an aftermarket look one piece 2.59 pulley, it will be black with six allen head screws on the face. Later this month the new VMP TVS blowers will begin shipping. The blower will come with a 2.5" stock look pulley (17psi) and cnc port matched high flow inlet elbow, right out of the box for $3499.
