Five Oh B
This happened to my 03 Mach 1 after I sold it to a friend. I had 4.30 gears and the Dallas Mustang Speed Calibrator mounted near the shifter. Guy that bought my car installed a short throw shifter and pinched the wire to the Speed Cal. Speedometer stopped working. Told him to repair the wire, then replace the fuse that popped. Mine was wired to the cigar lighter, just like yours. He called back and said he checked the fuse and it was OK. I told him that it popped, find the RIGHT fuse and replace it. The diagram on the fuse cover was hard to read and he was looking at the wrong fuse. Finally found the right fuse, it was popped just like I told him. He replaced it and everything works great now. Double check that you are looking at the right fuse (the owner's manual tells you what amperage it is, so that helps narrow it down if you have trouble telling the orientation of the diagram versus the real panel).
