FordEvangelist
6 friggin' weeks to the day after I ordered it, the big brown truck finally dropped it at my doorstep Now, it'll be another two weeks before I get it installed I'm sure. I will try to do the fuel pump this weekend and get that out of the way.

moabman
How exciting! Bet you can't wait to get started. Did you get the non-inter-cooled version? Also, you did order from Whipple right? If so it must still comes with the FRPP label anyway. I guess you get the FRPP tune on the little tune installer they send you once you register your car. Please keep us informed!

Looks like that would be fun to install :hyper:
FordEvangelist
Awesome. How much power will that thing give you? Looks like that would be fun to install :hyper: Hey guys... I bought from PMPParts.com, not directly through Whipple. This is the HO 10PSI Intercooled version. It *should* get me right around 440RWHP/430RWTQ. I've seen others dyno around 465/440 but I'm not gonna get over optimistic ... but I will keep my fingers crossed! haha I like this kit because it comes with the GT500 fuel pump assembly which should ensure that I get plenty o' fuel when needed. I think I'll be able to knock out the fuel pump this weekend and do the heavy stuff the next weekend. It does come with a "voucher" for a PCM reflash from Ford Racing. To use the voucher, you mail the PCM to Whipple and they flash it but I haven't heard great things about their tune or the support they give it so I'm going straight to a custom tune done locally. Now I gotta clear that stuff out of the kitchen before the mrs. shoots me.

moabman
Got that dual fuel pump in yet? Do you have to run an extra fuel line forward?

FordEvangelist
Congrats Levi...It's been quite a wait for you between deciding and ordering. Looking forward to the write up! Hey Bryan! Fancy seeing you here! Yes, the Whipple is installed and I'm very happy with it. The only drawback is that I only have a rudimentary base tune in it for now and haven't taken it past 3500RPM - talk about will power! I have a date with the dyno on March 22 though. I will post results as soon as I have them - promise. The install was alot of work but I enjoyed it all. Including the GT500 fuel pump, it took about 35 man hours start to finish. The fuel pump itself is easy but running the power wire through the interior to the engine compartment required minor interior removal (pain in the butt! haha). Naturally, I could probably do it all in 20 hrs the next time. A few pics of the install are attached. Oh, well, I haven't started the gauge installs yet :-] I'll have them done by dyno day. I have the SOS triple gauge pod with fuel pressure, boost, and wideband AFR gauges to put in.
KobraII
Right on man, that looks pretty B.A. (that's badass). Get it all tuned and dialed-in, and you'll be a B.A.M.F (all Dane Cook fans should know that. If not, google)

I keep it around for old time's sake 8-] That's where I'm from but reside in the DFW area now.
