jared@lethal
2011 GT500 owners.. We have not forgotten about you. We're actually working on some exciting new products just for you. One of them is our 3" offroad X-pipe. For all those 2011 owners itching to put a cost effective, high performance offroad x-pipe on their cars we'll soon have an option for you. We're in the process of making a 3" mandrel bent aluminized steel offroad x-pipe for you guys that bolts to the stock manifolds and catback. I'll have pictures of the pre-production piece for you guys on Tuesday. As soon as I have pricing and a release date for the production pieces I'll let you know. Thanks, Jared

J-Train
So would there be much need to upgrade the 2.5" Lethal O/R X pipe I already own? Any chance in offereing a H-pipe too btw, the X is a subjective sound sometimes
FireDragon
Any chance in offereing a H-pipe too btw, the X is a subjective sound sometimes Yeah, X-pipe is a step down soundwise from the H. When I'm ready I'll be looking for a highflow catted H.

Any chance in offereing a H-pipe too btw, the X is a subjective sound sometimes The 3" X we're working on is 2011 specific since they changed the design of the catback on the 11'. It won't work on a 07-10. We may introduce a 3" X for the 07-10 cars but that's not going to happen right away. No plans of an H-pipe at this time either. If at some point we make one you guys will be the first to know. Thanks, Jared

Wingrider
I'm curious- if people want the H pipe, why do an X pipe? Is the performance difference worth it?? I'm still a newbie but aren't X pipes also raspy sounding? I'm certainly not being critical and want to learn more so I can make an informed decision. You guys do great things for the GT500 community.
BigDan
^ gotta move all the remaining X sections before they can think about selling H's is my only guess as to why they wont do it for all of us H pipe lovers.

You guys do great things for the GT500 community. I think it comes down to X pipes usually do make a few more HP over the H. That's a fact and sound is subjective. Personally, after having an X on my 06 Mustang, hearing all the X soundclips, and now having the H on my 11, there's no way I'm giving up the sound of the H. To me the sound of the H makes up for the few extra HP with the X.
bpmurr
It would be wise for Lethal to have an H-pipe for the 2011 and up given they come with one. A lot of owners are going to want that H-pipe sound without the cats.

I'm still a newbie but aren't X pipes also raspy sounding? I'm certainly not being critical and want to learn more so I can make an informed decision. You guys do great things for the GT500 community. The difference in power between an H and an X is minimal. It really comes down to the sound which is mostly personal preference. You'll want to choose the one that sounds best to you and that's all that matters. Jared ^ gotta move all the remaining X sections before they can think about selling H's is my only guess as to why they wont do it for all of us H pipe lovers. That's definitely not the reason why we haven't offered an H yet. We simply chose to make and X-pipe. It sounds great, makes excellent power and sells very well for us so we had no need to make anything different. With that said I was down at the place that makes our pipes for us today finishing up the fitment of the 3" offroad X for the 2011 GT500 and spoke to my supplier about making H-pipes as well. It's not going to be an issue and we will be working on them next. We'll offer them in 3" for the 2011 and also for the 07-10 models. As we get closer to having a pre-production test piece I'll be sure to post some pics of fitment and sound clips for all to hear. Hope that explains it a little better. Back to back sound clips with the same setup, one with the X and one with the H, would really show the sound difference. Can't wait to hear the H! Put me on the list as very interested in the H-pipe version. My ideal would be to get one that bolts up to the stock manifolds and drops into the stock mufflers. I like the sound but need less cat restriction with high flows or none. Thanks!

Jared If you get some H pipes with noticable performance gains I'm in. Question on offroad pipes: do you still need to install MIL eliminators or how does that work with the emissions systems? Crushinator
Figured I'd bring this back to the top since it's been about 3 weeks since we've heard anything. Can't wait to hear the sound clip of the 3" H myself. Put me down for one when they're ready. So, what's the latest on development? Thanks! NMAv
When I'm ready I'll be looking for a highflow catted H. I'm considering this as well - because I haven't dumped enough money into my new car already (tires first). In my opinion the 2011 sounds nice already. Does going with the highflow cats/H and perhaps long headers get you much in the hp department? I suspect the sound will be louder/deeper.
